Topic: Greetings from Staffordshire, England

Hi all!
I'm a recent addition to Joe's flock, having read a review of Dust Bowl in Total Guitar magazine two days ago.  After two minutes on youtube I went out and bought Black Rock.  Er, WOW!  This is what I've been looking for!  Yesterday I had to plant fifteen trees and move another ten in my garden, and had the cd on on my old portable player.  Second person past my garden said 'great music - Joe Bonamassa!'  That never happens - except once, years ago when I had Jethro Tull playing while I worked on my motorcycle.  Again - WOW!

"Hey up duck!! 'Ow at?"

Welcome, er, Glug....can I humbly suggest that if you plan to stick around and post regularly, you seriously consider changing this handle?  neutral  Bit of a mouthful, innit?

We have at least three other Staffs/Potteries members, though a couple of them haven't posted in some time. Tell us a bit more about yourself, don't be shy, we won't bite - honest.  wink

You will find that Joe-world is pretty full of what we have come to call 'coinkydinks'!

RIP Iron Man

Rock On and keep the Faith

Glug will do fine.  Or Keith, which is my name.  'Glugskiclumfum' was the name of a monster I made up in school when I was about 7.  It had some pretty unpleasant habits and I've never forgotten it.  Dunno why.  More about me?  Er, I'm a keyboard player who prefers guitar and has a cupboard full of both; married, which is why my guitars, keyboards and amps live in a cupboard instead of out on show, ready to be played at a moment's notice as God intended.  How anyone can fail to appreciate the aesthetic and functional beauty of a tobacco sunburst double cutaway semi with three P90s is beyond me! That one and two of my other guitars are made by JHS Vintage, which I know is not Joe's favourite company, but do make really good guitars for not much money.  A bit cheeky with their JB LP copy though... I'm a biker who likes older bikes and a Land Rover nut who likes, er, oldish Land Rovers.  I have five kids - one of whom is called Joe and is no slouch with a guitar!

Greetings, Glug - from the county town!

My pal George (that's Amsterhammer) was a bit presumptuous with the "Eyup Duck", but he's spent time in the north of the county so I'll excuse him  wink  Of course if you are from the south of the county, the greeting should be somewhat different, and could possibly make reference to a different kind of (male) bird - this website won't allow the use of such words for some reason  lol

Always good to link up with a local Joe fan - where are you based?

Ian

Please be in no doubt that this is the REAL ME! Beware imposters........................

I'm in Biddulph, at the extreme north west tip of Stoke On Trent.  Another mile or so north is the Cheshire border, where yet another vernacular holds sway!  It's all south to me, though - I'm originally from North Yorkshire...
I've spent the last week or two introducing Joe to anyone who'll listen and my son Joe is another convert.  He may yet appear on this very forum when he gets his PC on line.  He's sorting his SG's broken headstock first - one has to get one's priorities right!

What The Fuzz ?!

Re: Greetings from Staffordshire, England

Definitely relevant.
It's interesting but also sometimes scary especially since these things are starting to show up in bathrooms in nightclubs and bars. You can't go anywhere without some type of stimulus coming at you but it's effective. but sonaki shower head is very inportant topics for us.

Yes, although I have something of a history with this handle, recent events have made me think I'd like to change it to my own, actual name.  But how?  There doesn't seem to be any way to do it in the 'edit profile' pagey thing.

The post above seems a bit 'out there' - d'you think someone hit the wrong button?
