Topic: Toys R Us kids???

Hey everybody!

I was just wondering if anyone has some guilty pleasure left over from when they were a kid.

I still love Toys R Us.
This thread sort of came from the most recent blog in my autobiography about the band Wham!

Yes, George Michael was in it, but it was the BOMB back then. I didn't need an excuse at the time... I was only 3 or 4 years old! Hearin that stuff takes me back...

Anybody else have triggers like this that take you back in time?
Oh yeah, you can check out my blog in my post's signature.... wink

I should own stock. Now it's grandkids and the better half spends a fortune in that place on them. You players have no idea what true GAS is when it comes to her and toys. My guilty pleasure was somehow avoiding driving by it.  wink

Re: Toys R Us kids???

Not a big fan of Toys R Us, I got thrown out for riding a little bike around like a unicycle, all the kids were loving it and chasing me around so were the employees, they finally caught me and asked me to leave all the kids booed so I got my daughter and left.

Re: Toys R Us kids???

While living in rural New Jersey, a Toys R Us was not close.......so it was the Sears Catalog "Wishbook" that became the Xmas time read.....couldn't wait to go through that book and have mom's head explode at all the things i circled!!!!!  Later on Toys R Us became the destination for Starting Lineup figures.......wow....a monumental waste of money!!!!

Re: Toys R Us kids???

when my son was much younger, say 15 years ago, we would go to the sports card stores and I would give him an allowance amount where he could buy a bunch of cheap packs, or a few high priced ones. I remember getting just as excited as him as we opened the packs in the store, hoping to get something worth putting in a plastic toploader. The owner usually watched us too, hoping something good was pulled. Most days were a bust or just an average used jersey from a so-so player. But one day we were in Mobile,AL and he pulled a Chipper Jones "Fresh Ink" auto, worth about $150 at that time (not anymore). I nearly shat meeself right there in the store. Then we started buying boxes, and that my friend is nothing more than GAMBLING. yikes I'd have rather lost most of that money at a casino. His collection today, although not as diverse, is probably worth 5 to 6K.
