Topic: Tennessee Plates guitar.

Just wondering, is this the crazy red/yellow flickery telecaster instead of the LP? Any idea's on this, the first riff/intro I suspect is John Hiatts, but the intro solo thingy at 0:08 is probably Joe's, it does have the kind of nasal thingy of the tele.

Any views on this?

Re: Tennessee Plates guitar.

My guess is he used his 53' Tele that is similar to Danny Gatton's. He played it on the Guitar Center Sessions that came out in January. But I am not positive on this at all.

Re: Tennessee Plates guitar.

I'm fairly sure Joe said in Total Guitar that the 53 Tele couldnt be shipped to the studio in time, so he just used a Les Paul

sound's close, but it may as well be the lp.

(title of the video is wrong though, it's not my video:P )

Re: Tennessee Plates guitar.

There's no mention of a tele in the "gear used" bit of the CD leaflet.
Too late to listen right now so I'll judge this in the morning tongue

Re: Tennessee Plates guitar.

I read in a UK guitar mag that he couldn't get the Tele flown to him in time so he used a les paul. Don't remember the name of the mag but it was the one with Kossof on the cover with Joe.
