I can confirm it is a two rock ,if you go to the pittsburg pics on the photo section there is a pic of it in the background instead of the carol ann !! i prefer the two rock i love them amps
why the change joe ?
That theater is amazing. I love the old theaters. That picture of his Les Paul is pretty sweet too. I swear the finish on my R8 is as close to that guitar as any i've seen. I say bring back the Two Rocks.
Alan from Carol Ann amps said that Joe's got about 4 or 5 of his amps, so it couldn't be the case that it was in the shop and he didn't have a spare...
Perhaps Joe is tweaking his sounds again? Perhaps using different pedals that the TR complements better? Hard to believe that Joe would give the CA's away as every time I've heard him speak about his amps, he speaks very highly of them. Not to mention that Joe and Alan are apparently quite good friends...

why the change joe ?
In another thread, Joe mentioned having to ship some of his guitars to Europe before transiting to Canada since shipping out of Canada is a hassle. Probably some of the amps went as well and the Two Rock was a backup to the Carol Ann.

The TR is a backup for the Blue CA and I also think the VW too on that rig. It could be going to Europe (though I doubt), or it might just be having a rest and being retubed by his tech or he might just imply felt like playing something else for a change....I dunno. It hasn't been retubed in a long while and has been used a lot and Joe turns his gear around when he feels like it. No big deal.
I was with Joe last week and he never mentioned any issues with it. He usually has a Cat 5 and a Jubilee spare behind the stack. The Jub because it's on all the time and forms the backdrop of his tone and the Cat 5 because it's used with the Theramin. He could survive fine if either the VW or CA died as they can be much more easily interchanged. If worse comes to worse Joe could get through a show using any one of the amps on it's own if needs arose...and he would still sound cool.
Each of the amps on his rig are great sounding amps in their own right.
Either way, there's no issues and Joe hasn't got rid of his CA's. I don't know where that notion came from.
Thanks for letting us know. Its pretty cool to have the builders of some great amps here to talk to.

Seems Blue Man was back in the rig last night.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EhUCa-_akQ
Sorry to dissapoint the TR fans.......j/k.....but the fanboy comments don't transfer over to the business level. CA and TR are friendly competitors and we interact with each other regularly with mutual respect on issues that concern our business in general. I'm also friendly with the guy(s) at Cat 5 and VW.
Probably right, either a last minute retube or just swapping them out for a change. Sometimes you have to swap things up to realize how good it is!
First post by the way, YAY!

MOST IMPORTANT THING ABOUT THIS POST/VID
. . . someone needs to tell joe that a full white jumpsuit is a total no-no before memorial day. . . especially in canada
I agree, jumpsuits are generally a no no, unless your THE KING, Hubaba! But I think that's just a white shirt and pants, so might be OK.
