Topic: 1959 Les Paul Clips

So I figured since Joe just got a killer Les Paul we are all in that mindset.  I foud a couple videos that I thought were interesting.

This is Gretchen Menn Playing a 1959 Les Paul.  She is in a band called zepparella which is a fantastic all female led zeppelin tribute band. She is my new favorite guitar player.  Sorry Joe.

And this is the same guitar being tested by Paul at guitar world with a 2002 historic. So you get to hear a real difference between the two Les Pauls.
I think the Original Burst has new Dimarzio pickups in it as it does belong to Larry Dimarzio.

If I'm not mistaken she used to be in AC/DShe a San Fancisco based all female AC/DC tribute band.

Is she hot or what? The guitar playing that is. Haha.

I think in a youtube comment who told Larry to swap the pups to really hear the difference, he said he would not switch out the pickups.

I've seen the demo before with Paul of Guitar World and there is a very clear difference in sound between the 59 and a newer model.  I'm sorry though, I'm not a fan of this girls guitar playing!  But she's alright to look at.

If you watch the Zepparella video's I think her guitar playing is great. Is it Joe's fluid super fast leads. Nope... but he's in a class with a small group of people.

Sorry I just don't get it! Joe's '59 sounded way way better than that, must be because he's best guitarist on the planet....she's good but tbh  there are thousands of very good players out there

Why would you show a '59 video with that sound? It would put people off...

Who knows what they are playing thru. I really doesnt matter. Tone is in the ear of the beholder. I Love Led Zeppelin but have never thought Jimmy Page had great Tone. But because they are one of the best bands of all time I look past that.
