This might be a good place to start...
As for the VW...contact Peter directly. I know he doesn't build an awful lot of amps, his business is more in the repair / restoration side of things.......Joe owns nearly all the VW's in the US. Peter is a great guy and I'm sure will give you all the answers you need.

$15000.00 may get you one.

Great amp indeed, but the the price tag may be unreal if he operates in the Dumble scale of production. You may get the same sound for a third of the cost with some other, more established (meaning in the business of building amps) company like Bludotone.
$15000.00 may get you one.
Have mercy!
The thing is awesome, triple redundancy, military grade had soldered. You got to pay for that, something way out of our budget, to be honest it's the type of amp that you should earn the right to own and not simply get cos Joe has one.

I KNOW I'm not worthy of a $15000 amp. I couldn't do it justice (but I'd like to try ).
Some rather self-deprecating comments here... I think anyone is worthy of a 15,000 dollar amp as long as you can afford it.
I totally agree. I dont need to earn the right to own anything. I just need to earn the money.
Second... Just because VanWeeden thinks his amps are worth that much ( if they are actually $15,000) doesnt mean they are really any better than a bludotone, or ceriatone, or two rock. Lets remember that if Joe didnt play one most likely none of us would know anything about that company.
I'd rather spend my money on a really sweet 59 RI Les Paul... a Gretsch Duo Jet, A Vintage AC30... and then take my wife out to dinner anywhere she wants... rather than buy a over priced Dumble copy.
That of course is no disrespect to Van Weeden... I am sure he makes a great amp.
i'd rather have a 1979 marshall jmp with a cabinet filled with celestion greenacks for that price. i mean i have a 1966 fender showman but it blew up on me today. man i got 7 good guitars that i own and im not that good yet ive got more to learn til i get out of high school. i mean i have my grandpas 1959 fender jazzmaster and strats and teles i have a les paul classic. i havent earned the right to own those yet as most would say but i sure do own them personally.
P.S. i inherited most of my gear and i paid for the rest im most certainly not rich
Self-depracating means bringing down oneself, not another doing so. Anyway, I don't see the comment being taken rightly. Earning the right to own one to me means being good enough to make use of the "extra" quality, whether it is a real or perceived value or just "luxury" for luxury sake...in anything. Just having something because you can is narcissistic a bit in my opinion. That's why there are so many overpriced guitars wasting away with collectors who can't play or don't even care for (properly, not as just an "investment") the esoteric aspects separate from a price.... Even a self-deluding rationale is a better place to be than plain hoity-toity, overly boastful and overtly prideful.

hence the usage was proper, e.g. "I wish I was 'good enough' to own this amp", "If I was a 'better player' I would 'earn the right' to own this amp". seems self-deprecating to me. Anyhow if daily players who are able to afford the gear than why not? who is to predict they will not make use of the "extra features" or whatever it is that a very expensive amp has. I for one try to play through tiny solid state amps and find myself not motivated to lay down a lick, but when plugged into my marshall, I go for it! Granted it may be a "mental block" thing, but it is a real thing I cannot bypass.
These things said, any millionaire forum members care to gift me a 15K amp?
I'm just starting to find out to get the tone you have in your head you can't just spend ALL of you money on guitars and ignore the other side. You need to invest the same or more money in a quality amp... and speakers.
The EVM12L's taught me that!
I knew a guy who was in his 40's and had a mid life crisis. He had a great job and spent most of his time working and raising kids. He one day decided to go buy some guitars and amps because he wanted to and because he had the money. He also thought he should buy some guitar lessons because he hadn't played in 20 years.
He bought a Custom shop Strat and a 59 LP RI. For amps he bought a Two Rock and a Fuchs lucky 7 to take to guitar lessons.
He could have started with some lesser instruments but he wanted to buy the best. I say why not. Enjoy the good stuff if you can afford it.
If I win the 350 million dollar Mega millions you can better believe I am going to be buying some nice stuff.

Yep great guitar through a poor amp equals poor sound ..but poor guitar through great amp is less of an issue ..I bought a Squier Hello Kitty cheap on ebay and it sounds just fine through my Ceriatone Express
