Topic: My amp's Pilot light went out

So today I plugged in my Marshall Vintage Modern head and the pilot light was not lit.  It seems that the amp volume is also went missing?

It's the 2266 (50 watt) version, and I never found it to be a super loud amp, but TODAY, even with the volume ALL the way up, it's not at all loud.  I switched cabinets, plugged the guitar straight into the amp with no pedals, and still no volume increase.

Is this poor performance a direct result of the main pilot light being out?  Thanks, -Seth

Re: My amp's Pilot light went out

It sounds like the input power has a fault. The lamp is the indicator that mains power is switched on and at the proper value. An internal low voltage problem is indicated and a tech should check it out. Don't play it until the fault is found, it may lead to more serious damage.

Thanks RickB.  I guess I'll be taking it to be looked at.  There goes that new reverb pedal I was gonna buy! -S
