Topic: The Union - This Time Next Year

The Union release their new charity single on Monday (13th December), called ‘This Time Next Year’ from their debut album.   It’s the official Childline Rocks single and all profits from it are going to the charity Childline.  The Union’s Luke Morley has long been a supporter of this charity, and his former band Thunder were also regularly involved in the Childline Rocks activities.

This Time Next Year is an excellent original song, but with a retro feel reminiscent of the classic ‘seasonal’ songs of the 70’s (Jeff Beck, Wizzard, Slade etc).

You can listen to the song here, and it’s worth checking out the video, even if you don’t want to buy it…

Oh, and by the way, the photo on the cover of the single is one of mine. smile big_smile

Hi Marty,

I didn't realize you were the photographer.  Excellent work.  I'm glad you brought attention to the band again.  The Union's release is easily my number one favorite for 2010 and I can't believe it hasn't generated more interest in this forum.  For those who haven't got around to listening to them I'd highly recommend doing it.  I know I've shouted out some clunkers, but these guys are the real rockin' McCoy!

Re: The Union - This Time Next Year

This time This Year my post should read really.

Just a shout out to all Joes fans in Germany, Holland and Belgium.

The Union are on the road and may be coming to a town near you!

Seriously, this is one of the best bands to have been formed in the last 2 years. Marty Moffatt has been championing them throughout and finally we are getting a chance to see them here properly in Europe.

Check the full schedule of this short tour at www.theuniononline.com

For real music fans in the Hamburg area don't miss out. They play LOGO in Hamburg on 15.03.11. Tickets are already on sale.

If you have never been to LOGO then it will be fantastic to see such a band in this setting. It is a small club/pub and you have no choice but to be up close to the action. I saw the Answer there a couple of years ago and they fair took the roof off, which isn't so difficult because it is so low.

Don't miss out. This is one of the best bands to visit Europe this year. Fantastic songs, and fantastic playing. UK fans might even consider a cheap flight out and catch them, although it is on a Tuesday. Still nothing ventured nothing gained.

I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to catching this band live for the first time. Pete Shoulder has an amazing voice and LUke Morley is a guitarist of the 'old school' - all hooks and looks!

See you there!
