Topic: What type of electronics does Joe use in his guitar

Everyone has been so kind (including Joe) to dissect every bit of Joe's rig/tone/guitars etc.  I haven't seen anything on his electronics and I am very interested in hearing your opinions.  I got into this because I was looking at buying a 59 Les Paul (only praying the top would be as nice as Joe's that he played in Live at Rockaplast!) and found that even after spending that much money you still have to switch out electronics because they don't use paper in oil caps, etc. that they did in the originals.  I noticed further that none of the big companies do.  Does it make a huge difference?  Also I am a lefty and now would never by any guitar that is 5K without playing it.  I am curious to see if Joe is upgrading his electronics or is satisfied with the stock setup. Any thoughts would be great!

Re: What type of electronics does Joe use in his guitar

Seems like Joe has posted on here before about his guitars that he doesn't change Pots or Caps out.  I'm sure his Signature model has Gibson pots and bumble bee caps.  His 59' Reissue his real P.A.F. pickups in it but never has he said he's upgraded the electronics.  I had a thread at one point talking about a Stratocaster I was changing stuff on and he said on it that he went through that period in the 90's of taking a guitar that wasn't that great and swapping stuff out on it to make them better just to find out he was still disappointed with the guitar.  He went on to say that when he buys guitars he only buys them if they feel like great guitars with no intention on modifying them.  Short hand verison of his words for sure but there was something in here about it around a year ago.
