Team,

I have loved Joe's playing since Bloodline days, over the years I have continued to purchase Bonamassa cds / dvds and give out as gifts.  Our local National Guard deployed troops a couple years ago, and I purchased and donated copies of So, It's Like That for our servicemen to have some tunes to rock out to while serving our country.

Figured since working to spread the "word of joe", should sign up for Street Team....never done this before....what should I expect to see, newsletters, check the website often?

I live in northern maine, recently sent Roy W. a list of venue that Joe and band should look at playing in maine....recently saw Joe in NH.....and talked with other fans locally that made the trek ( 7 hour ride - 1 way ) to see Joe play live....

what are other things to think about?
I have not received any emails since signing up to street team, should I have?

Thanks for the GREAT reply....will contact the venues that I forwarded information onto Roy on, Maine, while a small market, Joe would do very well here.....as I mentioned, I told a lot of people about the new hampshire show, and had 2 groups travel down to see show, plus my group.....and more people expressed interest in show, but not 6 to 8+ hour ride to attend...so there is an opportunity.

gov't mule sells out everytime to maine, allman brothers always sell out, additionally there is a BLUES FESTIVAL everyyear in Rockport, ME -- tied to Lobster Festival....that is something else for Joe and team to consider.

Totally understand what you are saying, so your message was deliveried.   I am an avid guitarist myself ( no where the level of Joe's playing, but work hard at getting better ), and my motivation is selfish too....JOE IS AN INSPIRATIONAL PLAYER for me, 8 years my younger, but what a monster......

I have always dug the players that not everyone knows about...but with Joe, always felt compelled to spread the word....remember working my butt off to learn some of the lines Joe played in Since You're Gone - Bloodline, and was blown away that a 16 year kid was playing that solo, so much depth to solo and not typical solo...nice structure, did not just run a bunch of scales.

Remember picking up So, It's Like That and went out bought as many of that cd / dvd sets that local store was getting in, and giving it out to my bandmates and guitar buddies......that dvd BLEW ME AWAY....I still go back to it, to learn new licks / riffs.....that is why you read me whining about missing the strats, fell in love with Goldie ( the gold sparkle fender strat ), featured in that video.....sorry, I am rambling now.....I digress, love his playing and passing the gospel of joe forward.

So, I totally get your motivation long story short.....

There are some great folks on this board for sure!!!!!

You get exactly this a lot of cool new friends who enjoy the music just as much as you do. Every once in awhile i will ask for some help distributing flyers in your area and contacting friends and co workers through social networks to let them know about upcoming shows.

I've been frustrated for years trying to get the music critic to review Joe in the Philadelphia Inquirer. He never has responded to my e-mails and most recently I even offered him 2 free tickets to the Philly show on November 12th. I wish he would just say something, even if its...Joe's not mainstream enough...

So, I decided to try another angle and got Joe coverage as the first musician who donated used guitar strings to StringsforaCURE.  It was an interesting experience on many levels and much of the info discussed was filtered down...I hope Joe's music gets uncovered by some folks that never heard of him previously.  And a big THANKS to Joe & Co. for donating strings.  (A special thanks to Jim Moody who is Mr. Reliable in my book.)  smile

What was interesting to me was how the article got picked up by other sources, some summarized it and some reprinted it as is. I have to admit I was really tickled by getting mentioned on the George Harrison Buzz on November 25th.  I think George's son Dhani may have something to do with this site. Totally cheap thrills to this longtime Beatle fan!!    tongue
