Ah yes, Jethro Tull. That was magnificent Stu! Although I must admit, the guys comment below the video of, "My God, its Lieutenant Dan!", really cracked me up.

Such an eccentric & talented dude...I saw Ian's solo act about a year ago, it was absolutely fantastic!! I was fortunate to see Jethro Tull back in the 70's, riding the wave of Aqualung, memorable for sure.
This post had me listening around on youtube, had to laugh at this comment.

Ian Anderson always made me think, ... if Joe Cocker and The Mad Hatter were to have a child...
really good Wed wakeup Stu, thanks. I am reminded of the people back in the 70's who weren't sure about the name, and I would ask have you heard of Jethro Tull? And many would respond, "Oh yeah, I just love him". Poor Ian, whether he knows it or not there are probably still a few people that call him Jethro.

Aqualung my favorite Tull album for sure. This track highlight Martin Barre a very underrated player
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqZmtq5L … re=related this could turn into a Tull appreciation thread especially since Joe shared the stage with Ian recently.
correct Jim, Martin has been seriously overlooked by some. Friends joked in high school while we were just learning some guitar, that he should be called Martin Barchord, and we would attempt to copy some of the Aqualung rythym. After buying the DVD Living in the Past, I changed my mind about his playing, think he has actually improved greatly over the years. It is a wonderful DVD, super talented band members. Highlights for me are Sweet Dreams, One Night in Budapest, and of course Thick as a Brick. I only got to see them 3 or 4 times(memory shot), but the Aqualung tour with an opening band called Yes was memorable, and their 20-25 minute Thick as a Brick opener in Tuscaloosa may be the single finest song I have ever heard in concert by anyone.
the DVD also includes a short throwback segment with Mick Abrahams, Glenn Cornick, and Clive Bunker.

I saw that tour with Yes opening as well. Others that opened for Tull The Eagles, and Heart. I have seen them at least a dozen times. The last time a few years ago it was rained out and canceled.

We didn't have that problem, we studied the REAL Jethro Tull in Social Studies class! But it was funny because a lot of others did not, and the very exuberant underclassmen would insist he was the flute player & singer!!!
Thanks Stu, that second side of the LP was fantastic (the whole thing really, but the second quite a bit better to me)!!!
Rock On & Keep the Nuggety Faith,
Rocket
