Topic: Walter Trout

Had an absolute blast tonight at The Exeter Phoenix where I had the pleasure of seeing Walter Trout in concert. He not only treated us to plenty of old favourites, but some songs from his excellent new CD 'Common Ground'. (if you've not heard it yet, I thoroughly recommend it). I was lucky enough to meet him after the show and I must say what a gentleman he is! Got my CD signed and a pic with him. Superb show, great music and a wonderful atmosphere.
I took plenty of pictures and there's a link to them, on my F/B page, below. I hope you enjoy them!  big_smile

Re: Walter Trout

Caught Walter in Edinburgh and he turned in a great show there as well. Never seen him give anything less than 100% on any of the occasions  I've seen him... and there's been a few.

I think the new album is one of his best for a while.

Re: Walter Trout

Hi Adie,

Saw him in Frome on Saturday and we too had a great time. Did you get to hear the guy on the mixing desk sing with him ?, what a voice, a mix of Robert Plant and Geddy Lee.

I also thought the support band ( who I think were called P-A-U-L) were good as well.

No matter how far you try to push the envelope, it remains stationery

I believe this is the fellow you're speaking of and if so, his name is Andrew. He is Walter's road manager. cool

You're right, he's Andy, the road manager/roadie/merchandise seller/guitarist/vocalist.....etc! He has a great voice! There are pics of him singing & playing in my photo set from the gig.
The support act, P-A-U-L, from Detroit, are an excellent 3-piece who gave us some driving rock/blues. A perfect foil to get us ready and warmed up for Walter. The pint-sized, dreadlocked drummer is one to look for, she was brilliant!! A photo set for them, too.

Is that drummer Layla who was touring with Joanne Shaw Taylor last year, anyone know?

CarljMD

Takers get the honey, givers sing the blues

Re: Walter Trout

Yes, CarljMD. Her name is Layla Hall. She not only plays with P-A-U-L, but with a number of bands/artists around the Michigan area. Look her up on F/Book.

Knew there had to be some footage of Walter's roadie (Andrew Elt) somewhere. Check these out

I first saw him sing with Walter a couple of years ago when he helped out with vocals just after WT's  op on his vocal cords. He was out playing 3 weeks after the op. Have to say that Andrew blew everybody away.
