Topic: Leicester De Montfort Hall October 19 2010

Well the photopass was arranged for the Leicester gig and the very courteous front of house staff were quite happy for me to shoot from our vantage point just behind the barrier. Once again SLR use was limited to the first 3 songs, but no problem using compacts thereafter. Now I mentioned I'd used my new compact at Manchester, and over the weekend I'd actually had chance to pick up a few neat tips to get the best out of it in concert situations. Have to say I'm much happier with the results. See what you think - the SLR shots all feature the #52 Sig Les Paul - the rest are from the compact.

Nice job Ian.  What were the cool little tips you picked up about the compact camera?  You did a great job with it.  I find mine works great with excellent stage lighting or daylight but I am struggling with it with poor lighting.  The SLR's really do spoil one.  The compacts seem to make it difficult to change settings!  Maybe the camera is smarter than me but I want to at least try and do better than it's little computer brain!

My turn soon - can't wait!
