Topic: best 2x12 cab

Hey all-

I am looking for a good 2x12 cab that can rival a 4x12 (aren't we all???). I am looking for something this size because of limited space, and the fact that I use 50w heads (and am possibly looking at a 100w solid state head)...

THD...bass response is second to none - light too.

Orange...solid.

Engl...again, solid - put some nice speakers in it.

Maybe a 2X12 Mojotone cab? They look gorgeous and I think they're the ones Joe uses (in 4X12 format of course...)

I don't know the speakers that come with it, though. I scored an empty cab on ebay and loaded it with two V30s at a total load of 16ohm. I might upgrade the speakers one day but so far I quite like them.

I used to have an old blonde Fender 2x12 from the 60's complete with black spraypaint, cigarette burns, and a replaced silver speaker grille.

I traded the speaker in it + $200 for the 79 Explorer back in 1995.  cool

Ended up putting two hughes and Kettner Bristish speakers in there to replace it. I really loved the cab... but sold it in favor of a Peavey 5150 4x12. I was young.  sad


I always wanted to try a 2x12 Orange cab.
