Topic: TC Electronic Nova System - thoughts?

I'm really tiring of the stompbox fiasco and was looking at one of these locally for $300 CAN - with an analog drive circuit and top quality effects and loops for additional stompboxs (wah, fuzz, etc) I may just go this route. Anyone have one/try one? I hope this isn't like the Line 6 Stompbox modelers....

Noisy imo. I've had the g-system, nova system and g-force. All I found intolerably noisy. All were returned.

Get a good loop swtcher or rack your pedals.

Pete Thorn makes his sound pretty good.  I'd like to check one out for a mini practice/small gig rig.

I have one, but I don't use the overdrive on it. The overdrive is noisy, but the delays, reverbs, choruses, etc. are perfect. For overdrive I use my Keeley TS-808.

A friend of mine has a Nova and he says basically the same thing.  Doesn't use the OD, but loves everything else about it.

Re: TC Electronic Nova System - thoughts?

Doesn't the Nova have a noise gate built in?

Yes it does. I played around with it but I don't like the effect, it sounds too much like an on/off switch. As I said, I use it in my effect loop and  don't use the overdrive/distortion. No problem whatsoever with noise .
