Here you go Bad Kitty,

This is what Elisa made for me and I asked her to use Tallan's strings. She gave me a choice of 4 different silver chains and I chose the one that is mentioned on the site. I will eventually take it out to Holy Hill to have it blessed and I plan to wear it daily. It's the first man's cross, but she will be making more of them. Each will probably be a little different. smile

Oli's dad is a very nice man and thank you again Roy for contacting him.  Oli Brown is a very talented young musician, it is a pleasure to have him aboard.  Oli will stand out as the first guitarist to donate strings from across the pond.

Also, the guy I went to see Buddy Guy with a couple of weeks ago, just received Buddy's strings along with Rick, his guitar player.  So, Elisa will receive them shortly. Also, Walter Trout and Kenny Wayne Shepherd's camp have verbally committed to sending strings.

You're most welcome Angela, it was my pleasure doing it. smile After meeting Oli and his parents in London last year, I figured they would be happy to donate Oli's strings. They are very warm and classy people and I'm so happy they came through for us.

I've got another artist over the Big Pond whose strings are currently in the mail to me. His name is Demian Dominguez and he lives in Spain. Elisa said apparently we've gone "worldwide".  I told her, now if we could get some intergalactic guitarist friends to donate, we could then say StringsforaCURE is Universal! wink

Along those same lines about the strings being from Joe's Chandler...my Lil' Eddie has a red Chandler that we bought after we saw Joe playing his!  Love the slide on the Chandler.  So it is cool that the strings are from the Chandler...hmmmmm...I wonder if it was from Joe's red or black Chandler?  How many more times can I mention the word Chandler in the message!  LOLOL   tongue

Yes Angela, I bought the first breast cancer pendant made from the Chandler strings. The first full show I saw of Joe's was in Kansas City, MO, July of 2006 - and he played the Chandler for The River and Burning Hell, and I was hooked. The Chandler is one of my favorite guitars of Joes. I just had to have the necklace.

On a side note, I have been working with a couple of other artists and am working on getting some of their strings.

Angela, I just spoke with Devon Allman and will be getting his strings from him when he gets back into town, and already have a set from Anthony Gomes. I have a couple of other artists that I am trying to get as well. Sending you an email for those prepaid envelopes - looks like I will have quite a few to get into the mail!

First thing I noticed in the news coverage was the Phillies sign in the case, which looked empty.  Elisa told me the TV camera man came at the end of the evening and that case with the guitar string jewelry sold out!  Elisa's husband is her right hand man for the website, he works a day job, so she is keeping him busy.  I learned a few new things about cancer and my cousin from the new info posted.

I remember reading a story about Sheryl Crow when she got breast cancer and she talked about how she ate lots of junk food and she totally changed her diet after her diagnosis.

I've been accused of being 'obsessed' when I get excited about something, my mind goes one track. big_smile Well, for years now, it's been Joe.  He's more than on his way, so now I'm taking him for a ride on my next venture.   wink

And I forgot to mention a couple of things.  Sandi Thom responded to my e-mail that she would love to send her strings to the foundation! Funny that you mention Aaron, I happened to catch his show this past Saturday night. Some time ago he asked me to film the "Cadillac Joe Memorial Winter Fest" http://www.majesticmadison.com/index.ph … joe_120310 in Madsion this Friday which they'll headline. "Cadiallac Joe", a/k/a Joe Anderson, is Aaron's father and he lost his own battle to cancer. Elisa had sold out all of the jewelry made from Aaron's strings, so he promised to give me more this Friday night at the show. For those of you that have never met or heard of Aaron Williams, he is one of those young guys (26 years old) that you hope your own grows up to be. What a fine young gentleman! I look forward to seeing my friend again this Friday smile

I know there was a party in Los Angeles this weekend, so I'm expecting a little buzz about StringsforaCURE.  I have to catch up with Elisa on some of the latest happenings but I read this on her facebook and I see there are a few additions on the site including a donations page for just $5.00.
