Well I love anticipation and surprises.  I hope things are looking up dude.  I know you probably haven't had a real chance to fully appreciate the Class 5 but I'd love to hear your opinion of it.  I'd like to get one and "Eric Johnson" it with some Tube Driver/Echo.  Do you think this amp can cop those tones?

BIN the BKTD and get a Jester. They are amazing. It's the diff between a Silver Jubilee abd a Valvestate!

Man....I know the Jester is awesome and everything but I ask myself...what would EJ do?  tongue   I dunno I've never played anything that gives me the EJ tone more than the BKTD.  The Jester even trumps the new Reissue TD's w/ bias?

Yes yes yes! I am, as you know, a total Gilmourhead. I have spent hrs back to backing the TD and the Jester.

Ok guys - I had a chance to play with my new Jester last night for a bit. I compared it to SS2 and Timmy for now. It can definitely cover some of the ground of those pedals and then some. It has excellent feel compared to the solid state pedals and really feels like a part of my amp....was running it into my 74 DR504. It's an amazing OD and easily worth the $$ imo. You can't judge it by the clips online - it does sound different going into a loud clean monster and I'm happy it does. I like OD pedals that bring out some of the Hiwatt tone instead of sounding completely different. I have not compared it to my tube driver yet, but I can already tell you that it's a much better OD sound than the TD....it's more alive, less noisy, and better eq (more control). I don't lose my low end like I do with the TD (pulse era). I've had the new TD and thought the eq/low end was a bit better than the Chandler, but the Chandler is smoother.

I will try and post clips when I have time. Anyway, so far I think the Jester is amazing and can easily cover what the TD can do and more.

How about the amount of gain? The Jester seems to have less gain then the TD. I'm thinking of Gdansk...Castellorizon, Take A Breath ecc. It is possible to obtain THAT sound with the JEster? Thank you very much Jeffrey

Ya know I spent most my time in low-med gain settings as that's what I really use an OD for, but I did crank the gain for a bit - I think there's plenty on tap to get those tones or very close....but you may be right - may be less gain. I'm one that prefers the G2 over the TD when it comes to higher gain tones.

We have to calculate that Pete had to do lots of modification to Gilmour's TD (he told me a few days ago), so it is impossible to obtain that sound with a stock TD. A friend of mine is trying to modify my TD: a little less gain and basses, more mids and the highs smoothed

Sure.  That guitar was actually my old roomate's for years.  He was into metal and hardcore music and everytime I played the guitar I couldn't help but to dig it for it's bluesy/hard rock vibe.  It's a super smooth sounding PRS, it has the Dragon II neck and bridge pickups.  The sparkle grey was only available for a short while and almost every grey CE-22 has a matching grey headstock and a tremolo.  Mine has a maple neck with a black headstock and hardtail bridge.  VERY unique, I've never seen another like it. Thanks for the compliments on my collection, but obviously there is room to fill it out more.  I'd love a double neck of some sort, a Telecaster for sure, and a nice Gibson 335/345/355 would be dandy.  I also have been eyeballing some really nice acoustics (Martin, Taylor, Gibson) so there may be an addition there also.

Not gear, but a pic of Eric Clapton's house in Antigua is cool enough! I took the pic while on vacation for my 10th anniversary in March

I bought a TWEAKER when they first came out.  Lovely amp, great sound and great features.  I did some recording with it, and it sounds SO good.  A very smart purchase you made!

Only complaint I have is that when I put a delay in the loop, there is significant highend loss on overall tone.  I just run a Reverb in the loop and delay through another amp's loop.  Have you had any similar results with yours?  Maybe it just doesn't take to pedals well, but it still ROCKS!! -Seth

This is my currently amassed gear. gone is my fender blues deluxe, in favour of an orange dual terror. such a great amp, simple yet tonefully wonderful. all i'm really using is my amp and tele, so a lot of my pedals i'm gonna sell off and get a nice booster pedal. really want the xoitic EP booster.

Nice stuff!  I like the baby blue strat.  I've never played an Orange..  Theres a guitar shop nearby that sells Orange, he has everything.  Even the white cabinets.  -S.

Is that Les Paul on the left a Vintage (because of the pointed horn)? I just wonder because I've ordered a Lemondrop myself.

It is indeed, great guitar for the price range. Needed a setup, but other than that it great. It fools me into thinking I have a Gibson at times. It'll keep me going till I can get an actual Gibson.

Love that Classic Plus!  Those things fetch a pretty penny because they were solid wood back then (I think) and the flame tops rival some custom shop stuff.  NICE!
