Re: Marshall AFD100 - The new silver jubilee??

Guitarist mag gave it 5star Gold award...now, I know they're pretty much paid for by Marshall and never give them a bad review...but it might be quite good. It is noted that it has a set of PCBs...each one for a certain set of components...not sure on the quality yet...

I'm just thinking that it is quite aggressively voiced and can switch between a plexi-style to 800-style...I'm more for the smoothness of an old SLP...
Maybe that's just me..

after listening to the Demo on Guitarmag CD I can honestly say it sounds pretty good , good classic Marshall sounds , built in attenuator and sounds good with a strat even at low volumes . I would consider buying one if I was going to use only 1 amp . think it would cut better than my Jubilee price is ok too and only a few 2600 being made ?

I agree it is aggresively voiced  but in the true tradition of a jcm 800 .

"Everybody's entitled to my opinion. wink

More pros than cons, I know...

I have watched a few videos...and I can pretty firmly say...that this is a good direction and they have spent a good deal of time on this. Paid off.
