...for their British Blues Awards!!
Kids, you both rock!!!
Winner of both the Male Vocalist Of The Year and Young Artist Of The Year! Congrats to a very deserving young man whose future looks oh so bright that I think I'll put on a pair of shades.
And Joanne Shaw Taylor for Female Vocalist Of The Year. What a voice, what an album!!
And who could forget Matt Schofield For both Blues Guitarist and Blues Album ("Heads, Tails & Aces") Of The Year. Fantastic!
Roy
And don't forget Ian Siegal Band, best blues band of the year. If you've not been out to see these bands, I really suggest you do so!
Congrats to them all. Sadly, we over here can but wish for a sample someday.
Rick
Hear hear Amsterhammer!
Really chuffed by the results for Oli, Joanne, Joe, Matt, Ian et al.
We here at Varmint Towers are particularly chuffed, as we are the official sponsor of the British Blues Awards Guitarist of the Year - hoping to do a full interview with Matt Schofield in a couple of months time - will keep you informed.
That said, we can't let the moment pass without offering our deepest commiserations to the family & friends of Kevin Thorpe who tragically passed away, following his set at the Newark Blues Festival - R.I.P. Kevin.

Please don't foget Paul Jones winning the 'Harmonica Player Of The Year' award. Well deserved and just reward for giving us great music for over 3 decades!
I think the blues awards are a big success, anything that helps promote decent live music in this country has to be a blessing , instead of the contrived tv/radio garbage the kids today are forcefed.
I guess we all have our opinions and favourites in the awards, my take is that the majority of the winners were justified, some strange winners as well, I was especially pleased Son Henry won, but lets look forward to next year when the competition will be stronger in every catagory.
Big props to the Brits for vision. The future of the Blues across the pond is heart warming. All these young, talented musicans that are nurtured. I lucked out at Lemington last year. Had Matt S. been there I could say I've seen them all. Keep up the good work!! Cathy
Some good award wins there, and it is nice to see Oli and Jo getting recognised (along with Matt, Ian and the others). Although anyone who really thinks either is best blues vocalist of the year needs to get out more
