Marshall Silver Jubilee 'Bass' Rig?

Scotty, the bassist in my band has just come across one on ebay (think its £400 current bid, £900 for buy it now) but has asked me about it... Obviously I'm not so experienced with bass gear, and have never played through one. Comin' to think of it... I'd never heard of them, nor knew they existed 
Anybody ever had any experience with one? Opinions much appreciated
