Topic: The James Gang Rides Again!

Original members Joe Walsh, Jimmy Fox and Dale Peters will be on tour this summer! As it stands now only 15 dates are planned. I hope they add a date in the Northwest, so I can "Tend my Garden" !!!!!!!

Re: The James Gang Rides Again!

Wow, that is great news.  I remember seeing them back in Atlanta around 73 or so, kind of a blur back then.  But should be really interesting to see how they put on a show this summer, should be great.  Thanks Stu...

Music is good for the Soul...

Yeah I guess I should have called them the, "Classic" lineup rather than the "Original" members. My bad...

Stu
My motive in that post was not intended to call you on being incorrect, but rather kind of a sidedoor lead in to a discussion about the James Gang's  early guitarist being what many people have called 'The best guitarist they've ever heard'
Would love to have heard him live back in those days.

Re: The James Gang Rides Again!

I thought Glenn left the James Gang before they had a major record deal, but I recall tehre was a buzz about them from the very beginning...I think Glenn wanted to get away from ahem,...the diaper state and head west to the Golden Gate, which he did and hit up with one of Canned Heat's dudes to form Pacific Ga & Electric which probably only us oldies know of...they used to advertise K-Tel records hits and PG&E had "Are You Ready"? (not to be confused with Grand Funk Railroads different song of the same name) on one of them...But he left them and became a Jesus freak I thought or something like that...I remember talk of the James Gang had bit the dust, but Joe Walsh put his gunslingin' ax on and...became the (immortal) gang leader!

Re: The James Gang Rides Again!

Big James Gang fan here...I tried to get tickets about 3 weeks ago for The Atlantic City show at the Borgota.  All of the reserved seats were gone.  I thought it was strange that it was sold out before I got my usual notice from ticketmaster about tickets going on sale.  I have had so many frustrations getting good seats anymore with ticketmaster, including my recent purchase of an upcoming Allman Brothers show.  I'm thinking scalpers and/or other ticket agencies?  My adopted theory, if it doesn't make sense, money is behind it!

Anyway, if anyone hears of any reserved seats available for the Borgota/Atlantic City show, e-mail me.  Thanks.

Re: The James Gang Rides Again!

Wow. Hadn't even checked to see if they were playing near me.....and they are!

But with tix at $77.00 a pop, I think I'll wait for the inevitable live concert DVD! I'm sure one or more shows will be filmed for posterity.
