Topic: Washburn J3

So I built a heavily relic'd Strat and its just not my favorite sound due to the maple neck and Texas Specials. I'll play my 94 62 ri MIJ anyday over any other Strat I've picked up. Of course my main axe is my JBLP.

Anyway I put an add up on Craigslist for a trade for a hollowbody and there is a guy offering a Wasburn J3 or a Ravens West Tele with P90's.

Obviously I'll play them both before agreeing to anything but has anybody played a Wasburn J3. I listened to some youtube clips and from what I heard they sound pretty good.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: Washburn J3

Well if you like the feel of the relic-ed strat why not change the pickups .

I have a MIJ STRAT with texas specials and I thought they were ok , but a set of Lindy Fralin vintages hots came on the bay for £130 so I got them and fitted them and man what a difference. I was always kinda defending the texas specials but the fralins are really great PUPs its transformed my guitar totally .

Washburns are ok if thats what you are looking for .

Tele with P90S is a nice guitar with some cool sounds .

Re: Washburn J3

Well I'm a rosewood neck guy.
I built this with a maple neck and its just not for me all around not just the pickups.

The tele with P90's seems interesting too so we'll see when I get to play them.
