Topic: I'm going wireless :)

Just ordered the Line 6 G30. Have heard nothing but good things about this system. I am absolutely stoked to be going wireless. Will let you know how it is when I get it. I ordered from musiciansfriend, looks like 2-4 weeks.  hmm

Re: I'm going wireless :)

I'd be interested to hear how that works out for you.  I tried wireless a few years ago via a Samson in my rack and was so disatisfied I swore I'd never return to that realm.  Obviously they are making better units today.  Let us know!

Re: I'm going wireless :)

Good luck with that...can't see myself changing from Mogami though...

...unless you see me on a stadium stage in the next five years.

Re: I'm going wireless :)

I always think of doing this. FOR SURE let me know what you think of it.

I've always had good luck with Peavey cords... HATED braided fabric cords like Spectraflex. They alawys crackled.
I bought Fender Kool Koils cause it was a cool looking white coiled up guitar cord, like Hendrix... whenever you step on it, it makes all kinda noise. Or if you slap it against the floor, it makes noise. So it's not the best sounding.

line 6 is underrated and they do what they do well.

Re: I'm going wireless :)

It was backordered on Musiciansfriend, but it was on Amazon for the same price, so I canceled the Musiciansfriend order and ordered from Amazon. Should be here tomorrow or Tuesday.

Re: I'm going wireless :)

Will do. Here are two videos that I saw on youtube that sealed the deal for me after doing a lot of research on it.

Re: I'm going wireless :)

I was in my local mom and pop store the other day, and a guy was purchasing the first one they had. He had been demoing it, and it sounded superb. I got a great deal on a X2 Wireless XDS95 after they got discontinued because they were the predecessor to these new Relay units. I only paid $100 for it.  cool

Re: I'm going wireless :)

It's totally worth it! Very clear sounding, has a strong signal, fits very easily on the pedalboard. Totally a great purchase!

Re: I'm going wireless :)

Nice.  Probably better than an attenuator.  Just go two rooms down and let'er rip!

Re: I'm going wireless :)

Just got my Line 6 wireless G30 in!!!  cool

Going wireless was like an out of body experience. My amp was in the basement. I cranked it up and went for a walk.  I could go upstairs and across the street. My band members said it only "garbled" once (probably at the farthest distance). SO although the range is 100 feet (line of sight) I was able to go at least a couple hundred with all kinds of ceilings, walls, ground, etc. in between me and the wireless system.

I love it so far.

Hey Deezer, do you hear any difference when you simulate the guitar cable? It's really subtle and having a hard time picking it out.

Re: I'm going wireless :)

I can't really tell the difference between the settings, but I can tell it's had a really good effect on my tone. It sounds lot clearer now. It's just as key to my tone as my effect pedals and amp are.  smile

Re: I'm going wireless :)

Hi,

I have a Line 6 G90 (rack-model) and I love it!

Do you notice any difference in tone when changing from cable to the G30? How about noise? I'm considering buying a G30 for my pedal board.

I played live on top of a high building in Oslo a month ago, and didn't hear any noise at all! I expected some interference/noise due to the fact that the many bulding has mobile antennas etc, but luckily it was noise free. It's very rewarding to go wireless around the audience. It's a great kick to see the reaction when "someone from stage" suddenly is next to them. Instant fun and it gave me lot's of extra energy!

Keep rocking!

Re: I'm going wireless :)

I'll let you know after the "honeymoon" period... right now, I'm loving it - and is VERY quiet. Much quieter than cables and more free. No more stepping on my cable causing my guitar jack to loosen~!  big_smile

Re: I'm going wireless :)

I've yet to have one problem with mine. I love it. It's the best purchase I've made that's gear-related.
