Yeah - another great vid Pete - I've put the link on Aynsley's forum too, so lets hope a few more get to see Mitch in action - not to mention your fine video work too.... lol

Re: Scott McKeon at the Borderline, London April 16th...whos going?

Yeah nice vids Pete - and having heard the new offerings by both these young guys, I'm hoping I get a chance to see them both soon.

Tell me guys - has the Borderline had a facelift of the stage area?
I seem to remember it being a bit scruffy when I came down to see Davy last year - certainly looks better in Pete's videos.

It didn't seem so to me Ian. Certainly no scruffier than, say, the 100 Club. Anyway it wouldn't have mattered because the music was top stuff. We had a great evening so do try and see them if you can.

A couple of numbers into Mitch's set  Eldo tapped me on the shoulder and asked me what I thought. I  yelled back (it wasn't quiet) that the guy's a natural and I stand by that. Thanks for the video Pete – excellent as usual.

It got somewhat louder when Scott started on stage and stayed that way 'til the end. A very powerful set with a satisfying amount of jamming going on.

As Eldo said it was a well attended JB Forum outing and we also met our new friend Jess. I've got some photos to put up including some of the Bonabuddies. My flash wasn't working properly (cough, cough – it helps if you don't put your finger over the flash although, in my defence, it's a new camera  roll  ) so I'm having to Photoshop them a bit to bring up the lighting.

I really hope there's a bit more support for Scott tonight.  I know it was his 'home gig' on Wednesday night in Poole but the place was packed and buzzing and to play in front of a really small crowd must be a bit of a downer.   As you say Rich, it's all part of learning the craft and you've gotta start somewhere.  Have to agree with you too that Scott's drummer, Phil Wilson, is amazing!

Wooders - hope you enjoy Scott's new CD.  It's been in my car CD player now for two weeks and I play it constantly, alternating it with Black Rock.  If you've got his last CD be prepared for a more funkier sound on this one.

Enjoy!

I'd rate this new album 5+ Stars.  Even though it's funkier, it's still a wide range of sounds.  I'd have to rate the songwriting near the top of what I've heard lately.  I really love the restrained guitar playing as well.  Scott's leap-frogged a bunch of studs in the business with this effort.

From David's photos, it looks like they've stuck a curtain up around the back of the stage....that wasn't there on any of my previous visits!

I think it's a great venue.

That'll be it then.
I've only been once and I thought it was a great venue, but do remember thinking it was a bit scruffy around the stage. I've just checked on the photo's I took of Davy Knowles - no curtain, and the walls were in a bit of a state.

I did read on a website last week that it had been refurbished in the last few months, including the loos. However, I can't find it now.  sad

It did look different, but not markedly and the loos (well, the gents anyway) weren't particularly fragrant.

I think I also read that the capacity is 275. How they would get that many in I have no idea. I think we'll be dancing on the ceiling at Sandi's gig.  big_smile
