Can't make the Borderline Jess but I'll be at Mr Kyps in Poole tonight and am really looking forward to it.  The first time I saw Joe play there was in 2006 so I'm hoping it will be just as good to Scott as well.

Hi Jess,

All being well, I should be there. I may try to pop into HMV beforehand to get an extra helping.  big_smile

currymandavid is also intending to be there.

I checked out your CSB video on your myspace website last night and was impressed by your playing. Nice little band you've got there.  wink

Yes indeed. As long as I can shake off this ear infection (maybe shouldn't have pushed the earplugs in so far at the GM gig   hmm  ).

Doors open at 19:00 and there's a music curfew at 22.30. If there's 3 bands to squeeze in then that means what, a 19:45 start? Just guessing. Anyone know?

I think Eldo might be there too.

Re: Scott McKeon at the Borderline, London April 16th...whos going?

Saw Scott last night at Mr Kyps and really enjoyed his set.  He played mostly from the new album and brought along Robbie McIntosh to join him on guitar for Scarecrow and a jam for the encore.  Yeh, my ears are still ringing!

Before Scott was a young guitarist from the Newcastle area called Mitch Laddie who reminded me a lot of Joe.

You guys are in for a treat - enjoy!

I'm seeing him tonight in Swindon...

Should be good!

Re: Scott McKeon at the Borderline, London April 16th...whos going?

Scott Mckeon did a stirling job last night in Swindon despite having only 13 paying punters to play to. I guess everyone must have been at home watching the great political debate (Politicians 1-0 The Blues). Scott seemed to take the lack of an audience in good spiriits making a few wisecracks and those that did turn up were treated to a most enjoyable set with material taken mainly from his new album 'Trouble'. Was also impressed with his backing band and thought drummer Phil Wilson seemed a cut above the norm.

Also enjoyed the support from Mitch Laddie. The young lad can certainly play and shows potential. It's great to see these young guys prepared to put themselve out there learning their craft the only proper way' live'.

I hope the attendance tonight at the Borderline is an improvement on last night, these lads deserve our support.

Rich

p.s. Purchased a copy of 'Trouble' at the gig and have to say it's pretty damn good. Also got a copy of Mitch's album but not had chance to give it spin yet.

Re: Scott McKeon at the Borderline, London April 16th...whos going?

Nice summary, Rich. Thanks.  smile Sounds like we should be in for a treat tonight. big_smile

I can guarantee there will be more than 13 at the Borderline tonight.  wink

How much were the CDs and were they signing them?

Thanks

Scott & Mitch's CD's were £10 each and both were happy to sign if asked.

Re: Scott McKeon at the Borderline, London April 16th...whos going?

I really hope there's a bit more support for Scott tonight.  I know it was his 'home gig' on Wednesday night in Poole but the place was packed and buzzing and to play in front of a really small crowd must be a bit of a downer.   As you say Rich, it's all part of learning the craft and you've gotta start somewhere.  Have to agree with you too that Scott's drummer, Phil Wilson, is amazing!

Wooders - hope you enjoy Scott's new CD.  It's been in my car CD player now for two weeks and I play it constantly, alternating it with Black Rock.  If you've got his last CD be prepared for a more funkier sound on this one.

Enjoy!

Re: Scott McKeon at the Borderline, London April 16th...whos going?

Great gig last night at the Borderline - Mitch Laddie and Scott McKeon both put on a great show, airing tracks from their new albums, both of which are well worth a listen. 19 year old Mitch is certainly one to look out for, and a very useful addition to the circuit - lets hope he plays some more gigs in London soon to help build his following. Scott's band are very powerful, driven along by a great drummer, Phil Wilson. Scott also has some great material from his first album to add to the set and he went down very well with the appreciative audience. Probably 100 or so at the Borderline last night, a vast improvement on the Swindon turnout, the night before. Go and see these guys if you get the chance. You won't regret it. Pete the Cabby was videoing so I'm looking forward to seeing a few vids on youtube..............other forumees including Wooders, Currymandavid, Maggie and Lydia were in attendance and were equally impressed by these guys. Great night, for sure........and keep gigging Scott & Mitch - surely its the only way to build that wider audience...............
