Sad that we have to rely on the weather for F1 to even approach interesting these days..............

The refueling stops were introduced some years back in an effort to add (artificial) interest.
Now they've gone again we're left with the world's most expensive procession of advertising hoardings..... unless it rains.

I think you mean Prost?Daredevil Nigel would finish races on four rims.
Good Times!!

Yes LynB, i also follow F1. Good luck to both Jenson and Lewis, flying the flag. I think Michael will find it hard, to start with, but he may win a few races.
Philipe will be challenging, along with Mark Webber.
Not sure how that new, No refuelling  rule is going to work, bigger fuel tanks i guess....?

~ Brack ~

I believe the cars have had to be modified to allow for larger fuel tanks.  I remember back in the days Nigel Mansell having to push his car over the finish line to get some points as he had run out of fuel!

Should be a good race between the usual suspects: Hamilton, Button, Vettel and wait ... who's that in third place on Q1?  Let's hope Michael has got his touch back and can show the young'uns (Rosberg) how it's done.  At the moment it's very much Rosberg giving the old man a what for.

Barcelona is a difficult overtaking circuit, with lots of long corners so I don't anticiipate much excitement in the overtaking department.  Also the weather could play its part.  Looking forward to it.

Re: New F1 season kicks off this weekend

It is wonderful to see M.S. back in the mix. I feared he was finished after the moto crash. His equipment is not quite up to the best but I expect podiums soon as he shows the kids how it is done once again. If it is wet, P1 would be expected.

I hope so Brack! I have seen few in my lifetime with equal skills. Senna, Stewart, Piquet. Men that could win even when the ride was somewhat inferior. JMHO (can you tell I'm a fan?) smile

Re: New F1 season kicks off this weekend

I tried today guys, I really did, - but was so bored, - even the TV director was watching a battle between 14th and 15th....

Now World Superbikes from the Worlds most historic track, Monza today was superb.  smile  smile Except not  a good day for Ducati.

Well done for trying Ian!  True it wasn't the most interesting race, except for the last few laps when Vettel's race engineer was urging him to slow down because the state of his brakes was 'critical'.  It's a brave man who still guns his car at over 100 mph knowing the brakes might fail at any moment.  Felt sorry for Lewis, but that's motor racing.

Next week it's Monaco and I hate to say it but it's the one race on the calendar that I don't enjoy.

In the meantime, well done Mark Webber and once again Forza Ferrari!

yeah I know what you mean... the ambiente of F1 cars racing through a cosy city is cool... and I guess the most fun out of it do the drivers themselves have and the audience there... to watch it on TV it's slightly less exciting... now even without the fuel-stops, even less changes of positions might happen... well let's see... I'll watch it anyway.... becaude it's Formula 1 and like to the cars racing...  big_smile
