Topic: Shannon Curfman new album duet with Joe

Oooh I just pre-ordered Shannon Curfman's new album off her website and Im so excited to hear the duet of the Clapton song The Core with Joe.     I heard a snippet of it on her myspace too.  It sounds so good.

It is one of my favorites as well! What's funny is Joe didn't know the song before I sent it to him which I think is why he took such great liberties with being free with the vocals. He really did a heck of a job. I couldn't have asked for more! smile

I got it today and that is the first song I went to. Such a hard song to try to improve on and the best you can do is do it justice. That you did. You didn't mess with it a lot you voice is amazing. The riff and tempo is true to the original and Joe's in comparison to Eric's is not fair but the solo's are worth the price of admission alone. Went to Oh Well since I have a soft spot in my heart for Peter. You did a unique version of that song and I do like what you did. I'll have it in the car with me tomorrow to give the rest a listen. Just sampling it though I got to say it Rocks.

Re: Shannon Curfman new album duet with Joe

I've always been a fan of Shannon Curfman and didn't know about the new album till this morning.  I think What You're Getting Into is her best effort yet.  At first I didn't know it was Joe on the song because he's not credited on iTunes, but I investigated and was pleasantly surprised to learn it was him.  This cover blows the socks off the original...Mr. Slowhand, meet Mr. Fasthand!  Thanks Shannon for being waay more than Jonny Lang's neighborhood pal.

Soulful vocals as well.  Thanks. Sort of a split between Eric & Derek & Susan...

Re: Shannon Curfman new album duet with Joe

I ordered the album from Shannon's website (as a present for the missus) and Shannon was so kind to sign it. smile

We love the album. Great songs, great guitar playing, great singing.

The duet with Joe is definitely a highlight, but if you really want to hear what Shannon can do with her voice you gotta listen to the cover of Peter Green's "Oh Well". Wow!

The title of the album is "What You're Getting Into" and you should really check it out.  cool

Listened to it a couple times today.
Great album!

Shannon's voice blows me away and there is some killer guitar throughout.

Might cover a few of these since my wifes singing in our band.
