Topic: Joe, questions about slide

Hey Joe!
I have some questions:
- Are you always using open tunings for slide?
- Are you using glass slides besides steel?
- I read that you prefer high action. Are you using the same height for slide and normal playing? (By the way, do you know your exact string height?)

Greetings

I'm not Joe, but based on what I've seen and read, I can give this a shot.
-Joe normally uses open E tuning when he plays slide, he can play standard though.
-I think he uses brass
-Joe has a couple of guitars  that are strickly slide (Chandler, skylark), so those have very high action. He also slides when he plays "The ballad of John Henry" live and he usually uses a barotone guitar with his regular action (I assume because most of the song is not played with a slide).

Re: Joe, questions about slide

any song in particular?

Re: Joe, questions about slide

Thanks for the answer, ken!

Ah, additional question!

What's your favourite slide player?
Hmmm... no.
What's your favourite guitar player and slide player? wink
