Re: Super Group CD with Joe

It's a wrap!

Joe - if you guys take this on the road in the UK, you gotta play Wolverhampton Civic Hall - heart of the Black Country!
And it would give you a chance to try out Joanne's phrase on the locals! lol

Mr Hughes has recorded his vocals with Blackmore, Galley, Moore, Norum, Kotzen, Thrall, Iommi, Travers, Bolin, Lynch, Kotzen, to name few. And with a powerhouse drummer in Bonham driving it all, this could be a major piece of Rock history.
Joe B will be here for a long time playin the Blues, but this is a chance for him  to show how diverse of a player he really is, and have some major fun while doing it. Although it might be late 2010 before we actually here the outcome, this news has already excited a lot of people around the music business.

Ha! you mentioned Kotzen twice! You must like him!! ha ha!! smile

Re: Super Group CD with Joe

Is this Joe squaring the circle or what? Talk about synergy!

He's been making his own album called with a working title of 'Black Rock'. Then he meets with a coupla guys from the Black Country to play Rock. So we get a ROCK band called 'Black Country'.

I guess we should start guessing album titles. As Icon has said, with Wolverhampton as the beating heart of the BC then maybe something like

'Thrown to the Wolves' or 'Pack Hunters'. Maybe a reference to local football team such as 'Old Gold', or with this band's pedigree 'Black Gold'.

Maybe the new Supergroup album title needs its own thread? Ah what fun this is all gonna be!

Well as it happens I know Glenn is a huge Wolves fan (like me) and  Joe's got the gold & black LP to match the team's colours. Sorry - sliding off topic - should be on the football thread I know. lol

local classic Rock station that currently does not play Joe, will be soon me thinks. They just announced this news (what Jason recently said) on air
big_smile big_smile big_smile big_smile big_smile
hurry up with this thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh and two requests Joe:
1. don't move to England
2. if there is any chance of you appearing at Hot August Blues again this year, don't let this thing interfere.
both things would be forgiveable but it doesn't hurt to ask smile

I'm afraid I can't agree with your first request. Joe living in England would possibly mean more shows I can attend big_smile

Nope. LA is where it is happening in the music scene and having him close means more unannounced gigs close to home. cool Of course, not having a winter in the off season makes a big difference too. Remember where he grew up. He knows all about ice and snow.

Re: Super Group CD with Joe

Joe’s schedule is looking very weak at this time compared to the past few years. There seems to be some well deserved breaks this year for Bogie, Carmine and Rick in the 2010 schedule.

It looks like the Power Trifecta: Black Country will be having some show this summer.

This should be good cool

Kevin Shirley on Facebook:

The cat is out the bag! This is BLACK COUNTRY. Jason Bonham on drums, Derek Sherinian on keyboards, Glenn Hughes on bass and vocals and Joe Bonamassa on guitar and vocals. The songs are all original and they are all the very best players in the world!
Jason (Led Zeppelin, Foreigner) - a totally unique drummer and what a powerhouse, yet oh-so-tasty. Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater, Billy Idol, Alice Cooper) - super versatile, playing mostly overdriven Hammond in this ensemble. Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Trapeze) - bass and vocals and Joe Bonamassa is the best Blues guitarist around, adds his signature vocals. We're planning to get this out late summer! Perhaps if you're around San Bernadino about March 17.........
