Re: Super Group CD with Joe

Not much...but here ya go anyway!

"I'm @ King Baby with a member of our new Band...GH"

Re: Super Group CD with Joe

Is it possible that new songs are being recorded to include with the Deep Purple remix of "Come Taste The Band"? That would spark more interest in sales of the remix, for sure.

Sorry if this was already asked, I didn't read ALL the posts.

Re: Super Group CD with Joe

From Glenn Hughes Twitter:

"I'm on my way to the Wiltern theatre in LA to Honour my Late great friend John Bonham...it will be wonderful tribute to Bonzo..GH."

Jason Bonham is appearing at this event - which means he is in L.A. at the moment.

2 + 2 = 4

So now I have - Joe, Glenn & Jason Bonham. Add to that Kevin Shirleys comment from last year that it is a 4 piece that leaves one more.

I would love it if it was Jimmy Page.

Let the sleuthing continue!

Re: Super Group CD with Joe

Based on links I've found, I reckon it's this

Jason Bonham
Glenn Hughes
Those two for sure,,

however, is it a definate that Joe is IN the band? Or just featuring on the album
Coz think about this

Jason Bonham and Page doesn't even need explainingm, so it would make sense if Page is in on this.

Hughes was in Deep Purple the same time, so this would make sense if David Coverdale had something to do with things.

And returning to Page,,, he's done work with Coverdale anyway, so there's all strong links here.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the five guys seem like the most likely members.

Unless it's STRICTLY 4 members, it may be that one of the guys is only featuring, but otherwise, it seems clear that:

Bonham, Hughes, Bonamassa, Page and Coverdale are all in this?

The only one out of that I can't really see is Coverdale. GH and Joe can handle the vocals well enough. However the quote I saw about a 4 piece was from November last year, so maybe things have changed? And there's always room for one more!

Anyway, the last Whitesnake was pretty good so if DC was involved that would be great.

Yeah, would be great to see Coverdale in this group, as his work with Jimmy Page was spectacular! And I'd love to see Joe in a band with (what I can only imagine) two lead guitarists. Cant wait to hear this.

I think you're close guys, Jason Bonham and Glenn Hughes are gimmes ?
then i'm guessing you can perm any 2 from these 4
David Coverdale or Paul Rodgers = Vocals
Steve Morse or Jimmy Page = Guitar, But JP is a big ask as it's hard enough to get him out to play with The Zep boys let alone anywhere
something to keep us amused through January, but i bet the finished product is smokin'

Joe Bonamassa, Glenn Hughes, Steve Morse and Jason Bonham would be really great!!!

Lookin' back in front of me

Re: Super Group CD with Joe

Based on that, I think Page is out of the equation, but I'm not sure if Paul Rodgers would either. He very well could be, and the new Marshall would back this up!
Another reason Page would'nt be in it, and maybe also Steve Morse, is Joe being in a twin lead band. Of course we've seen him do many jams, but may this be the start of twin lead's for Joe? We'll have to wait and see, but I'm now thinking

Bonham
Hughes
Bonamassa
Rodgers

Re: Super Group CD with Joe

I thought Jimmy was quite keen to get Led Zep happening again but it was Robert Plant who wouldn't commit due to his work with Alison Krauss. That was why J-PJ hooked up with Them Crooked Vultures (oh my poor ears!) which left Jimmy Page with nothing to work on.

I would still have JP in the picture.

It is fun to speculate on this though. I am sure Joe is having a laugh about it!

if Rodgers was involved I would be ecstatic cool

Re: Super Group CD with Joe

This is so interesting. Bound to be a short term thing. These suggestions are making my mouth water. Calssic Rock is def on the way back in. My three penneth = Joe, Glen, Jason, Coverdale. I'm really not convinced about Paul, Jimmy or Steve, but I'd be pleased to be proved wrong!

That would be my guess too Geoff. Interesting that JP has gone on record about his plans of  being productive and going on the road but not with the rest of Led Zep this year though.

Whatever it is, it'll be great I'm sure. Plus it's bound to put Joe further in the spotlight. Glenn comes from 'round these parts and I know a guy who went to school with him. He's a big Trapeze and Purple fan - but he'd never heard of Joe roll. Guess that's about to change......

Maybe its not another guitar player....  My dad and I were talking, possible keys.  He said Jon Lord, psycho on the keys and one of our favorites big_smile, or what about Mr. Winwood, kinda outta left field - I know, but Joe did jam with him recently and he's pretty wicked too.

Discuss lol,

Re: Super Group CD with Joe

I would have to geuss that along with Joe and Glenn it's Bonham since they need a drummer and he is in town. I'm thinking Coverdale for the 4th as according to Shirleys sight he was in the studio with Glenn Hughes to check out the Come Taste the Band remixes.

When I was a child I spoke as a child, But all I heard was how I should get ahead,
Now growing up it ain't anything but all This indecision with these debts and doubts
And worries hanging over my head. When I was a child I spoke as a child,
I wish I could remember what I said.

Another reason for Bonham: He was on You & Me. So there's strong connections smile
