Topic: Norton Buffalo Tribute

Probably should have posted this a bit sooner, but Steve Miller is hosting a celebration of life benefit for his old friend Norton Buffalo on Fri. 1/22 & Sat. 1/23 @ The Fox Theater in Oakland. Beside the Steve Miller Band also performing will be the Doobie Brothers and featured guests: Bonnie Raitt, Huey Lewis, George Thorogood, Elvin Bishop, Charlie Musselwhite, and Roy Rodgers & The Knockouts. All proceeds from these shows will go to Norton's wife & kids. I believe tix are sold out, but some are available through stubhub.com and no doubt through craigslist.com. Should be a special evening for a special harp player. I'm in for Sat. night if any others may be going check in here.

Re: Norton Buffalo Tribute

You have no idea how weird & ironic this is JDawg.  Being totally unaware of either your post or Steve's tribute memorial show, I was pondering how come no one else seemed to memorialize Norton Buffalo on this forum, (unless you did and I missed it), so maybe I should get one up soon as they year ends.  Just then, as I was on the way home from workin' and a Steve Miller song came on the radio...I thought of their association...
Norton was fantastic and I hear such a great fun guy also.  I am gonna really miss the cat, Dawg! If there are 2 tickets anywhere not stratospheric, I am THERE Saturday.  If not...can't lose memories and the music LIVES!

Re: Norton Buffalo Tribute

Like I said there are tix through stubhub and the Gen. Adm. floor tix are the least expensive and closest to the stage. I know about a dozen or more people that are going and all of them knew Norton personally or were casual aquaintences. The guy had lots of friends especially here in NorCal. Hope you can make it up.
