Topic: Bon Jovi tickets

I was hoping to book tickets to see Bon Jovi, taking my son for one of the
shows at the o2. This would be my son's first concert, although I'm
hoping to get him to see Joe on May 28th.

But we have this situation where if you are a 02 customer you get
preferential treatment by being able to book tickets five days before
the supposed official sale date.

What are the views of fellow forum members out there?

Do you agree with 02 customers being given first option, or do you
think it should be first come, first served.

Hi Jeff,

From what I can gather they will be playing at least 20 nights at the O2, so I would have thought that getting tickets would be no problem at all.

No matter how far you try to push the envelope, it remains stationery

Re: Bon Jovi tickets

personally I would n't be convinced about spending out to see anybody at the O2 arena, not heard good reports, and very few bands have what it takes to play venues as large as that. - Sorry to be negative and part of my comment could be related to the fact that I saw Bon Jovi on the Slippery tour at Hammersmith Odeon and it was good, saw them a while later at Wembley Arena as was really disappointed.

As for the O2 favoritism, - reality of a very competitive market by offering their "members" an incentive, - sh1t mobile service though!

My YouTube channel with plenty of my Joe's videos dating from 2009 inc his first Hammersmith Odeon ones:

Re: Bon Jovi tickets

Well I've been to a Bon Jovi gig (my wife's a fan). Bon Jovi's OK- not to my taste I'll admit - but he's a big showman and he put on a good show. But.... we were in the terraces at Twickenham and the sound was terrible. I would never go again unless I was listening from the pitch. Don't know about the O2 Arena as I've never been there.

A word of warning though Jeff. The fans are (how shall I put it?) , mmmm, intense. I still have a vision of a sea of pink cowboy hats across the pitch. And the chronic sound wasn't helped by the screaming and off-tune singing coming directly to my poor ears from the people surrounding us.

The whole pre-sale thing sounds iffy to me but if it's commercially driven you probably can't fight it.

See you at Walter Trout's gig on Friday I hope.

cheers

David

Re: Bon Jovi tickets

Saw Bon Jovi many years ago on their first UK tour - 1500 seat venue.
The O2 isn't a bad venue but saw Prince there and the sound was awful.
If they perform in 'the round' I may well go.
As O2 sponsors, can't see a problem with giving their customers
an incentive.
My real concern is the fact that tickets go on sale about 6 months in advance.
It's a gamble but often decent seats can still be purchased up to a few days
before the gig - Joe at the RAH for example!
