Topic: fulltone pedals

Has Joe played  through any univibe-type of effects pedals on previous CDs? I've got an early model Deja-vibe I'd be happy to send him just to hear what it could do.

Re: fulltone pedals

Joe has used a Univibe clone before, especially in his Strat/Tele days.  If you watch his "Signature Sounds" DVD he has a Prescription Electronics Vibe Unit on his board.  I have bought and tried the Fulltone Mini Deja Vibe for a while now and feel that it's one of the best Vibe clones out there.  Some tracks that have obvious Univibe usage are "Pain and Sorrow" and "Tea for One".  I think the tone Joe got on "Tea for One" easily ranks up there for some of the best tone ever recorded for electric guitar.  TONS of soul!

'67 and '74 Fender Twin Reverbs, '74 Marshall 1987 lead mkII, Metro Superlead 100. Pedals from TC Electronic, Ibanez, Dunlop, BK Butler, Electro-Harmonix, Fulltone, Maestro/Gibson, Loopmaster switching, VoodooLab, Boss. Gibson and Fender guitars, Dimarzio pickups.

Right on! That part at 3.21 always grabs me - some bits in that top the original - and that comes from a Zep fan over a Joe fan!

Sorry Joe. wink

Yep, at 3:21 it sounds like the amps are exploding like a 747 jet engine!  I think I remember Joe mentioning that it was his old Superlead/Jubilee on 10...MY GOD WHAT VOLUME!  My personal favorite section is from 5:32--->5:50.  I mean WHERE DOES THAT COME FROM!?!?!  Also coming from a gigantic Zep fan here, I'd have to give the nod to Joe on that track...Page don't want none of Joe I can tell you that much!

BTW I had a lot of luck emulating that particular sound with this rig here: (fast forward to 3:50)

Amps were the Ceriatone HRM100 and Dailey C-Series (very plexi like) with some reverb, delay, chorus, and a Boss RT-20 Leslie pedal.  One of my all time favorite tones for sure.
