Topic: Happy Birthday to my "little girl", Sarah.....
Yes, this old dad now has a new legal voter in our home. Sarah, my daughter, has turned 18 years old as of today. Great student, very good Golfer, fantastic artistic talent and player of the trumpet in her high school band's wind symphony. This week my daughter had some oral surgery including bone removal and then grafting it from one part of her mouth to another. This is in preparation for permanent implants for the many missing teeth that she was born without. She had the surgery on Tuesday and was off of school the next three days, a rarity for her. Mouth packed and very swollen, she lay on the couch for a lot of those three days unable to eat many foods. And yet, never once uttered a word about how much pain she was in. She may be small in stature and a very beautiful young lady, but on the inside she's as tough as nails.
I just can't believe the time has past so very quickly from that sweet little blonde girl to the mature young woman I see now. She'll always be my buddy though and I love her oh, so much........
