Topic: Initial Tone

Hey guys,

One thing I've been trying to work out for ages is whether Joe starts with a relatively clean tone on his Jubilee and then pushes this further into overdrive with a Tubescreamer or similar or does he start with a dirty tone on the Jub?

My main amp is a Vintage Modern 2266 (50W mind, so it should break up easy) and I've tried using the "Low Dynamic Range" (essentially a clean channel) turned up loud but I just sound clean and loud; there's no dirt there. I continually just resort to running a dirty amp to start with.

Any suggestions?

Re: Initial Tone

I thought that amp was his main distortion but I'm not Joe I couldn't tell you.  I've been wrong so many times lately its not funny.  But that would be my guess and the other amps setup cleaner.

Re: Initial Tone

Theres a guitar centre video that shows joe demonstrate his amps individually on youtube, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vty_W_x4 … re=related

I think that answers my question. Cheers!
