Topic: Help with Gear on Stage

In Davenport, my first Joe concert, Joe used something to "Bend" the sound of the guitar. The closer he got to the bar of this thing on stage the more it "bended".  I apologize for being non technical, however I can't figure out what this thing is called to tell friends.  They think I'm just silly.  Help.

It's called a Theremin.

Joe has been using one for about a year now.
