Topic: Whiskey Myers

Came across this East Texas southern rock band and geez these boys can play.  Twin guitars a la ABB, only I don't remember the Allmans rockin this hard.  The lead singer can sing real well (has that early Van Zant twang)and the whole album (Road of Life) is one of the best I've listened to lately.
Check out their Myspace site - they offer 6 or 7 songs of the album to sample.  Highly recommended.

Re: Whiskey Myers

Thanks Curby, this band sound really good. A nice mixture of country and rock, great playing and singing. I like the song Lonely East TX nights.

Re: Whiskey Myers

Hi Tripsy,

I'm glad you liked Whiskey Myers.  I enjoy the whole album, but my favorites are "Summer 2005" and "Thief of Hearts".  A couple of other good bands in that same vein you might be interested in are Tishamingo ( Hillbilly Wine, Ain't Got Time) and Jupiter Coyote ( Train Song, Real Thing, Jot).
Keep on truckin'!
