Topic: The Brew

I had this band mentioned to me on another forum as they are playing the same festival as Joe in Cologne this weekend.  I’ve since given their work a listen and I think some of you would like them.

The band are from Grimsby in the north of England, however they spend most of their time touring in Europe, primarily Holland, Germany and Poland – they have even appeared on a mainstream Polish TV program!

The band are lead by 19 year old singer and guitarist Jason Barwick and have been compared musically to acts such as Cream, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. They were voted ‘Best Band 2006/07’ by ‘It’s Only Rock n’ Roll magazine.

The Brew take to the stage at Cologne at 4pm (Joe is on at 8.30), and they are also supporting Walter Trout on some German dates later this year, plus they have a good number of smaller dates in between.

Take a listen and please share your thoughts, is anyone familar with them or have they seen them live?

Re: The Brew

Sounds like they've got a lot of potential.  I like their sound and now know they're not the American Jam band of the same name..vbg.

Re: The Brew

Sounds good to me - reminds me a lot of some of the bands that were around UK in the early 80's when it was known as new wave of british heavy metal (NWoBHM) I know I'm showing my age - but I'm also still listening to some of this stuff!

Re: The Brew

They sound promising

Joe Live In Rotherham....not too long to go now !

Re: The Brew

Loving the sound of this band, it's like they're playing stuff in a late 60's early 70's mould but at the same time bringing a fresh raw sound

Very Very Good Indeed and the guitarist is young and focused

Re: The Brew

Yeah, a very Hendrix, Robin Trower type vibe but with a contemporary twist from what I'm hearing. I'd definitely like to hear a bit more of them.
