Topic: RIP Michael Jackson

Got this word just a few minutes ago. Don't know much.

I don't really like his music, but I know this is a monumental loss to the music world.

Well a few sites have confirmed it. CNN just said he's in a coma so.... yes we will see. If it is confirmed wrong I will take this down ASAP.

Re: RIP Michael Jackson

He may have been a creeper but God save me I did like some of his hits...

It'll be interesting to see his record sales go through the roof

Re: RIP Michael Jackson

Not afraid to admit I like some of his music. I'll never forget the day my girlfriend picked Don't Stop Till You Get Enough on the jukebox. One of my favorites. RIP

Re: RIP Michael Jackson

I remember holding the Thriller record in my hands and watching E.T. on VHS. Michael Jackson is an American symbol that is recognized worldwide. He was an icon that made it big from rags to riches from Gary, Indiana. It's too bad he had emotional issues. I hope that his soul goes to heaven and is seen for what he was to music & people in general, and not what he looked like.

Re: RIP Michael Jackson

I've just read the news on my homepage. Jackson was an enigma and despite not being the greatest fan of the individual, you do have to recognise his talent and achievements. It is a shock and sad to think that Jackson never found the inner peace he was looking for.

Re: RIP Michael Jackson

I only just heard the news on German radio as I arrived in work. Its really quite a shock to say the least.

His various health problems were well documented and maybe he was being over ambitious in terms of the massive comeback he was planning, but then, everything about Michael Jackson was grandiose. That said more often than not he would pull it off.

I just hope now that we can be spared all the 'I knew the real Michael Jackson' stories and just remember him for his contribution to popular music which was immense.

Sad day.

Yeah I heard it as well this night when it was announced. Very shocking and sad. R.I.P

The local newspaper wants to interview me about it because I used to dance like MJ and perform when I was like 9-13

Re: RIP Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson ..... Probably the greatest entertainer on the live stage has sadly passed away. A true legend and icon in Music, everyone knew of his music and pioneering video's from the 80's and who can forget watching that "Thriller" video back in "83 it was pioneering and spurned the video/MTV era, Michael had a very good voice and his dancing was just awesome plus some of those great songs will live forever in our minds
Onstage he was the supreme entertainer that was his stage but sadly people remember what happened offstage and forget about his contribution to Music globally bringing people and nations together under the music banner
It is indeed a sad loss to the Music world but he has given so much that will be remembered

Rest In Peace Michael Jackson

Re: RIP Michael Jackson

I don't want this to sound mean but... Farah did a lot more for my childhood then Michael Jackson's Moon Walk ever would or will.  She too was an artist in her own right.  MJ's music sorta went down hill in the 90's to me, but his music with Jackson 5 is everybit as good as anything out there.  Even his music in the 80's was fantastic.  He got Eddie Van Halen to play guitar for him on "Beat It" and btw Ed refused to be paid because he thought it was an honor just to be asked to play on the album.  Overall I felt like I lost Micheal Jackson way before 2009, and just couldn't get into him after all the weird stuff came up about him.  True or Not it turned me off of his music.  It is sad when you think about it and I'm sure he'll forever be missed.  I wonder who will get the rights to all the Paul Mcartney hits he ripped of of Paul, and also what will ever happen to the Little Rascals video's that he bought the rights to (He bought them because he felt like they were racist and should be taken away from the public.  Micheal I wish you Peace, and Farah I will always love you and my poster I had on my wall as a kid that got me through my teen years.  sad

Re: RIP Michael Jackson

What a shock this was to hear the news about Michael Jackson.  I am truly saddened by his sudden death. Despite everything else, he was a unique talent that will never be repeated.

RIP Michael Jackson.

Re: RIP Michael Jackson

Another icon left this world to have a big jam session up there with all the other passed by stars.
For me it was a little like when Freddie Mercury died (this was hard for me as a die hard Queen fan).
You don't need to be a fan to be shocked. RIP Michael
