I follow Albert a few years. Rumours saying that he will come to Europe at 2015. I hope so.

Made 2 out of 4 on Sunday and Monday. 2 complete opposite venues, Sunday was a roadhouse type bar in Folsom just north of Sacramento @ 3 in the afternoon where everybody danced from the first note to the last. Monday was a sit down jazz club affair at Yoshi's in Jack London Square in Oakland. Albert smoked both venues and like always he made himself very accessible to everybody that wanted to chat him up. My friends and I begged him to come out west more frequently and he said would do his best.

Re: Albert Cummings

Great show last night by Albert and always fun to hang out with Cathy and the General. The General asked Albert to play "Voodoo Chile" Said he hadn't heard him do it in like 7 or 8 years. So sure enough, Albert launches into a 19 minute Voodoo Chile and states, "Well, I have to please The General smile " Always amazes me how a musician and band can just play something that well after not having played it in so long. Shows how proficient they are. Fantastic show all around.

Re: Albert Cummings

We saw Albert at the Western Maryland Blues Festival this weekend. Felt kind of bad they had him on so early in the day, really thought he should have been the headliner for Friday. He always plays such an awesome set full of energy and fantastic guitar playing. Since he was so early, they hadn't worked out all the sound issues yet and his voice was pretty low in the mix. Got a little better as his set continued. There was a really nice moment during "Hoochie Coochie Man" where Albert gives a pick to a young boy and lets him strum his guitar. Encouraging the younger generation is what it's all about. Filmed 7 of his songs.

He put on a great show and thanks to Natasha there's proof smile Albert has a new CD coming out in July and wants to tour Europe in the Fall. I'm looking for the right promoter. Any suggestions I can pass on to him would be appreciated wink

Re: Albert Cummings

Saw Albert at the Sellersville Theatre on friday. Always a very long, frustrating drive to get to that place and as we're sitting there stuck in traffic I think to myself why are we doing this. Then we get to the theatre and Albert starts the show with a really slowed down version of "Your Sweet Love" and it's like, oh yeah, that's why we do it smile He put on a fantastic 2 hour show with a number of songs off his new album "Someone Like You". Really loved the new song "Little Bird". Excellent slow blues that sounded incredible. I thought the sound for the whole show was really good that night, Albert's vocals were the best I've ever heard. Just wished the theatre had someone who knew what they were doing for lighting. They always have the lights so incredibly dim. Makes the videos quite dark. Don't know why they don't turn them up a bit. A little white light would have made a world of difference. Filmed all but the encore. Battery ran out sooner than expected.

Re: Albert Cummings

Thanks Natasha! I saw Albert last night at Chan's in RI. When I saw him for the first time last year, I knew I'd try to catch him every time. Chan's is a very small and quirky place (just over 100), but it's a great place to see music up close. I mean like very close. I leaned over to see what he had on his pedal board, and could have reached down and turned knobs for him during the show. :-)

(For pedals he uses a tube screamer, boss digital delay, Marshall Bluesbreaker, Holy Grail, Klon (clone?), wah. All played through a Vibro King.)

He's definitely more aggressive playing live, so the guitar doesn't sound as precise, and I thought there was too much delay (which I think muddied the sound). But he is super engaging with the crowd, which is great.

Re: Albert Cummings

Albert will be back at The Powerhouse Pub in Folsom, Ca. again on Sunday Dec. 27th @ 3pm for another Sacramento Blues Society show. Can't wait! Looking for other dates in NorCal, but nothing yet.
