Re: Albert Cummings

Got to witness the great Albert Cummings in action this past Saturday at the Big Bull Falls Blues Festival in Wausau, Wisconsin. The band comprised now of Albert Cummings on lead guitar and vocals, Karl Allweier on bass and backing vocals and Conor Meehan on drums, blew the crowd away with some fabulous Blues/Rock music. Later on that night, Albert and Band stopped by The Intermission which is a club in downtown Wausau to check out Aaron Williams and the Hoodoo who were performing. Both Karl and Conor even got in on some of the action! wink Here are the pictures from the Blues Festival and you might note, the first two are of Aaron Williams and Albert. Aaron and his band mates stopped by the Blues Festival to watch Albert perform. All three guys, Aaron, Eric and Zac, are big fans of his. smile

I hate to say this now, but I sure wish you all could have been there to see this show. It's the best I've ever heard or seen Albert perform and THAT'S saying a lot!!! cool Videos will follow...eventually.

Thanks for the call Roy. I know I'm going to get some flack about the never dying horse photo  wink . I really miss him and can't wait for Friday. It may be the high point of the festival for me. Such a talent. If he every goes to Germany or Holland he won't come back. He should be bigger in the States, IMHO. Call you Friday  cool     Cathy

You're most welcome Cathy! smile While I was listening I thought to myself, "Now who would want to hear Albert?", and your name immediately came to mind! I would have called "The General" too, but I don't have Bob's number. Wait until you hear their set, it was Smokin'! They played for 90 minutes and then the crowd demanded they come back for an encore. They didn't play "Barrel House Blues", but had some new songs that were equally as good! cool As I said before, this is the best he's sounded. After the show we were talking and I asked how the home building business has been going. He said good, but also told me that THIS, meaning music, is really where his heart is. I'll also say (announce?) this...Albert said he's been working on a new album and hopes to have it out early next year. He's not finished with it yet and the album is still untitled, but he did tell me it's going to be a "Killer"! smile Needless to say, I can't wait until that one comes out!!! cool

Sadly enough he didn´t up to now. We even would give him back to avoid the Joe trauma when he played more shows in Bavaria than in Wisconsin!

Güenter, I really love you man!  lol Roy, you've got me hankering for an Albert show big time. I wonder if he still plays Revolution Hall in Troy, NY (where he started)? Ouch, that thought just made me realize it has been almost 5 years! yikes

Re: Albert Cummings

OK Rocket, here's a little more "hankering" for you, a few videos which started this past Saturday's show. Regarding the first one, there were some "technical" issues on the video which is explained underneath it. wink  The rest of the videos show be fine. smile

"Who's Loving You Tonight?" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WBDR7AtzLs

"Why Me?" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_b1c1W6z4gs

"Girls To Shame" (This one cooks!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGvGO4izyPA

"Where Did I Go Wrong?" and "Your Sweet Love" (We call that a "two-fer'"! Plus, there's a great, fast jam at the end) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVL68PunCMc

That's all for today and hope to have more uploaded tomorrow. cool

Re: Albert Cummings

I dig Albert, but he needs to spread his wings a little futher and more often. I can relate though, being a contractor is a hectic enough lifestyle let alone trying to maintain a music career on top of it.
