Topic: Who are your favorite singers?

I've seen lots of lists of best guitarists, best drummers, etc., but I don't think I've ever seen a list of Rock's (or Blues) best singers. This sorta struck me while listening to King Crimson a few days ago. Here are a few of my favorites:

Absolutely the best rock singer is Freddy Mercury, the best range in rock and roll.

Aretha Franklin and my fav female vocalist is Anita Baker.

My favorite singer is Jeff Buckley. Sure he's not a blues artist but his voice was truly an instrument and packed alot of emotion.

You know when I saw this topic I thought it was a light hearted joke but looking at the responses it has introduced names I have never heard of and could make interesting study searching these artists out and seeing if I like them.
Shows how the term "keep it simple" works.
Always interested in new artists. Probably comes from having 4 children spanning several years, all with different tastes.
Might keep me away from this site for longer.lol.

When I posted this, it was definitely meant to be light hearted (although not a joke), but I was really curious to see responses. This is such a subjective topic, probably more than any other instrument. Examples: I saw Susan Tedeschi and Robert Plant listed here. Although they wouldn't be in my top ten, I like them both...my wife doesn't care for either one.

A lot of great posts here! Many good singers I forgot about like Derick St. Holmes! Workin Hard, Playing Hard!! Another one of my Favs is Steve Marriott!! That Humble Pie Rockin The Filmore is still one of my favorites alltime albums. I still think thats Framptons best work even to this day!
