Re: JB Signature LP for sell on EBay

With over 4 days to go that will sell for over $3500.    Still waaaaaaaaaaay cheaper than I can get here in the UK.

Still way cheaper then they were brand new! $4000 was the price I saw.  5 to 10 years from now you won't find these things anywhere near this price if you can find one.  As long as things continue to prosper for Joe that is, which we all know it will.

Re: JB Signature LP for sell on EBay

Joe's LP signature guitars will become true collectors items, but I'm always torn between collecting for investment and collecting for the pure love of guitars and playing them.

I'd find it hard to buy one of those guitars and not wring its neck.

cool

I'm sure Joe would rather see them played that stored away, barely seeing a few hours daylight a year.

The guitar is already beat up from the factory! You can play it all you want and it will still hold it's value through the years. The best of both worlds (collector vs player). big_smile

Re: JB Signature LP for sell on EBay

If I bought a $350,000 original 59' Les Paul I couldn't just not play it I'd begin to play the hell out of it like I do all my guitars.  When I get to the point where I'm more worried about a finish or wheater or not I'll sell it one day, I believe that would be the day I sold all the guitars I was afraid to play.  In other words whats the point of having it if you don't enjoy it?  I could go to a freakin museum if I wanted to just look at guitars and not play them.  Thats just me.

Bingo!!!   A players guitar.    Sure its super cool to have the JB vibe, but at the end of the day its a guitar to play.

Its a bit like Jimmy Page and his attitude to his "Number One" Les Paul, its a tool.    A tool to be used.

I'm not sure I'd want one of the un-aged JBLP's?   Gibson pandering to the collectors of virgin guitars.

Re: JB Signature LP for sell on EBay

If I ever get a JB Sig LP it will probably be a non-aged one.  I want to do the relicing myself!  The relic job looks cool on the aged ones but I'm not about the extra $$$$ for it.

'67 and '74 Fender Twin Reverbs, '74 Marshall 1987 lead mkII, Metro Superlead 100. Pedals from TC Electronic, Ibanez, Dunlop, BK Butler, Electro-Harmonix, Fulltone, Maestro/Gibson, Loopmaster switching, VoodooLab, Boss. Gibson and Fender guitars, Dimarzio pickups.

How much are they selling for in the states?

You guys are gonna kill me, but at one point a couple of months ago, musicians friend had a new un-aged bonamassa LP for $2999!!! yikes I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't jump on it, mostly because I'm pretty happy with my R8. I think it may have been a mistake, but they are so big that I'm sure I would have gotten it for that price with an online order.

As far as I've seen, the aged and un-aged go for the same price.

Man you should have bought it.    At that price?    TAKE TWO!    I can't get one in the UK for less than $5200.

ARGH!!!!!!!!

Re: JB Signature LP for sell on EBay

That's where I got mine from and the price I paid. #264. My wife told me two buy two but I stuck to one. A week later it went up $1000.
Couldn't be happier with my purchase. It a great all around LP.

I bought a $2,200 Les Paul Standard almost 4 years ago on lawn mowing money.

$500,000*

The good news is I think a lot of famous and not-famous '59's alike are used in studio, just not on the road, so they're still making music.

I would probably go for the unaged  JB LP...I'll get something new either way. It depends on how high the price of unaged JB LP's jumps up in upcoming years and if they make them more than a run of 300 (which I think is likely). If it becomes a little too absurd I'll buy the wood myself and have a luthier make me my own unaged JB LP, early 50's style Gibson logo, nylon saddles, black plastic, mismatched knobs, perfect neck for me and all.

All for half the price smile
