Topic: Buddy Whittington

Hi, I just wanted to express my admiration publicly for a great gig by Buddy last night at the Globe in Cardiff. He showed real class with a guitar, and wit as a frontman. I hadn't expected him to be as excellent as he was.
I should mention the young support band he had with him. Luke Dougherty on guitar (15 i think) showd real promise with his band, but got up with Buddy later on and was superb.

Re: Buddy Whittington

Yes, there have been many great reports about Buddy on his UK tour (albeit very few on this forum), I saw him support Gary Moore and to be honest he stole the show!
I will need to keep a look out for the name Luke Dougherty too smile

Edited to add, I think it is Luke Doherty:

Re: Buddy Whittington

Yes I saw him at Holmfirth on saturday with Lucky Simon and I really enjoyed his set. He played a lot of his cd including Second Banana, Pay The Band, Greenwood, Too Much Of A Good Thing and he did a great Big Legged Woman,
He had Pete Stroud on bass and Roger Cotton on keyboards from Peter Green's Splinter Group
and they were both excellent. I think the drummer may have been Larry Tolfree but I'm not sure.
I have some vids which I haven't uploaded yet but I will.
I did speak with Buddy after the show and he was very nice. I didn't have my cd cover with me for him to sign and the only piece of paper I could find was my new Oli Brown gig guide. tongue I was wearing my Oli t shirt and he asked me who it was.
By the way Simon I didn't blag that pick, he offered it to me without any begging on my behalf. tongue I didn't even bat my eyelids lol
Sorry I didn't see you go Simon. I went upstairs for a little sit down and I think you must have thought I'd gone. Thanks for letting me hang out with you smile

Anyway, I can recommend Buddy, great player, singer and writer and nice guy too.

Tripsy smile
