Topic: Vinatge Modern Settings!

I know there has been posts before about Joe's settings for his VM of Jools Holland Show, howeve, (af dar as i am aware) there hase not been any specific settigns posted.

Can anyone post some good settings for the VM that get you close to Joe's tone?

If you read this Joe any chance of revealing some settings . . . ?

Cheers!!

Re: Vinatge Modern Settings!

I use the low dynamic range..

Master: as high as possible
Presence: 3/4
Reverb: noon

Bass: noon
Middle: full
Treble: noon

Mid Boost: off
Detail: 2 'o clock
Body: noon

The sound is now clean if you play at low volume, it will start to break up at higher levels..

Now I use a Maxon OD808 (tubescreamer) with Gain full on, Volume full on, tone very low.

Hmm hard to say without Joe letting the cat out of the bag himself.  My educated guess/starting place would be:

Mid Boost ON
Low Dynamic Range
Bass-full on
Mids- 3 o'clock
Treble- 10 o'clock
Presense- noon
Detail & Body start at noon and then adjust to tastes.  The gain is dramatically affected by these knobs so if you don't feel like you are getting enough then I would turn them up even more!
Master- high as you can bear!

A LOT of Joe's tone is due to volume and it's nearly impossible to get that kind of sound without moving some air in the speakers.  If you have volume issues, adding a baffle may really help.  Good luck, I really love the Vintage Modern amps!  If you don't feel satisfied with it you could always donate it to me man! tongue

Re: Vinatge Modern Settings!

These are some clean sounds, trying to get a country-ish tone with a lespaul=d

But it sounds a lot worse than the 'guitar solo' clip..
