Topic: The Answer - Everyday Demons

This one arrived just yesterday (I think it was released 27.2.), so I can only judge from first listen - up to now I think it´s an excellent Rock-album. Very Zeppelinesque at the beginning, but more "modern Rock" like afterwards. The only thing that´s missing is a real slow tune in between to relax from all the screaming and guitar-shredding .... wink
Good song-writing too ... I´ll have a few more listens before I say more, but I can already recommend everyone to give it a listen. The CD also includes a DVD with interviews and videos.

Very excited about their upcoming show in Stuttgart in less than 2 weeks!

Hah! you beat me this time Eva. My copy hasn't as yet arrived, but I have heard several tracks already. From what I have heard to date it sounds like "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". The first album featured "Memphis Water" which is slower and a standout number from that album. I can't wait to have it in my hands and see them on their own headline tour later in this year when they are done with the AC/DC thing. Great music and just the best guys to meet up with afterwards. I hope that will still be possible.

Recommend you get a ticket to catch them when they come

Re: The Answer - Everyday Demons

Not sure if I like at as much as the first album but I've only heard it a couple of times so far. There are a couple of slower tracks but I think I prefer the faster ones. They are really catchy.

Great stuff...Tripsy smile

Hi Eva,

Well, having now got the album and given it several good listens I am envying you for that show in a weeks time. I was a bit nervous about this, their 2nd album, but now 2 fabulous albums in the past week or so! Joe's was something of a given but Everyday Demons certainly reinforces The Answers credentials as a great band in the making.

A great band is the sum of its parts and as a four piece there's plenty of space for all of them so its pleasing that the production defines them all so well. The first 3 tracks are high velocity rockers and standard fare - albeit well done. But Cormac Neesons voice is an instrument in its own right so I was delighted it's showcased on several songs, Cry Out being the first, where the band chill slightly, change tempo and the vocal range is alternated. It's nice to hear they can still take risks with their writing.

Stand out track is, for me, the fifth "Why'd You Change Your Mind". I don't really think they sat down, listened to the Led Zeppelin's first 3 Albums decided to write something that would not be out of place on any of them. So all to their credit that they have. To give LZ in their prime a run you need monster drums, inventive bass lines, stunning guitar and awesome vocals...check all four boxes then. Listen to this on headphones. Its brilliant.

I'm really pleased with this. There must have been a lot of pressure and they haven't blown it. It compliments 1st album 'Rise" very well. I guess anyone who has seen them with AC/DC will know they've got what it takes. Can't wait to catch a headline show and see the whole set.

For now, I'll just have to wait - still at least I've got Aynsley Lister tomorrow!

Re: The Answer - Everyday Demons

Got my copy in the mail today from Townsend Records. Bought the deluxe edition with the second disc live in Japan. So far listened to the studio disc and part of the live disc. Kicks some serious you know what! Highly recommended for anyone who likes Zep and Free.

When I was a child I spoke as a child, But all I heard was how I should get ahead,
Now growing up it ain't anything but all This indecision with these debts and doubts
And worries hanging over my head. When I was a child I spoke as a child,
I wish I could remember what I said.

The good thing is that the album is getting better each time you listen to it. Next Tuesday I´ll go with Eva to Stuttgart to see them live.

I got mine going through Stansted Airport in the UK at HMV. Normal disc was PSTG 8.50. I bought the one with the Live disc too and that was PSTG 10.20 which I thought was pretty good.

Mine was 13 pounds including postage from UK to US. Don't know what that will come to in US dollars until I get the charge card bill. Well worth it though. Has anyone checked out the live Xmas show cd they sell on their web site. Has special guest Paul Rodgers on a few songs. Great stuff.

Re: The Answer - Everyday Demons

Only bought "RISE" a few weeks ago......I think the comparison to good ol' 70's Rock n' Roll (Free, Led Zep, Humble Pie) is valid. I love it.

If I'm not mistaken "Every Day Demons" get released in the states on Tuesday 3/10.....sure hope I can find it.

Re: The Answer - Everyday Demons

I just got an e mail from The Answer that they are playing at the Hard Rock here in Pittsburgh on Tuesday Oct 20th. Now I normally won't go out during the week but all this talk has me a bit pumped up to see them.

Take care everyone. And if I don't meet you no more in this world
Then ill, I'll meet you in the next one and don't be late, don't be late
