Re: Landmark Syracuse 2-28-2009

As soon as I get access to a computer that is not on dial-up (yeah, I know I should upgrade some day), then I'll check out these videos.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that the dude was Joe's sister's fiance.  Gail & I ran into him a couple of blocks away from the Landmark.  He asked us if we knew where it was located.  We told him to follow us, and ended up talked about Joe's music.  I asked him about his camera and how he got permission to bring in a video recorder, and that's how I found out he had such cool connections.  Not sure of his name, but a very nice guy.

BTW Rocket ~~~ do you know the set-list for the show?

Re: Landmark Syracuse 2-28-2009

Yup:
Ballad of John Henry
Last Kiss
So Many Roads
Mountain Time
Another Kind of Love
Sloe Gin
Great Flood
Lonesome Road Blues
Happier Times
Your Funeral My Trial
Blues DeLuxe
Woke Up Dreaming
Just Got Paid

Encores
Ball Peen Hammer
Story of a Quarry Man
Asking Around For You

I think his name is Mark maybe Mike, but yes, nice fellow indeed.  I have no idea about the relationship, but I think he might be a writer of some sort.

Rock On & Keep the Faith and get to another computer,
Rocket

That's "The One" that got (gets) everyone up off their feet, as if the Orange BBall squad had just won another National Championship (Sorry JHawk tongue-couldn't resist)!

That's Ok, I was pretty excited when Kansas won their third Championship last year!  I expect the Orange should be pretty excited to have won their first in 2003.  It just makes life as JHawk in Syracuse a bit tough, but that is why I love the blues!

Try being a Buffalo Bills fan. That's why I love the blues AND drink to excess on occasion! lol

As much as I appreciated the exposure to Joe's new material, It's the older stuff (Mountain Time, Blues Deluxe, WUD) that really made the show for me. I think I said it somewhere before but when I check out of this world, the heaven I want to go to has me front and center at a Joe Bonamassa gig every Saturday night!

Not to stray off topic but my two favorite JB albums, er CD's are ANDY and LFNIP. I really miss Joe working his magic on a strat or a tele. Too bad he didn't break out the Gigliotti in Syracuse

When I do, if I ever, make to heaven, or where ever it is we all go, I hope all my kids (the furry four legged ones) are there to meet me.

You're right Spider, I believe his forum name is Bonameyer.  He posted links to the videos in
General Topics » The Ballad of John Henry - Live video.

Would be nice to have the whole show on a DVD!
