Topic: Interview with legendary Cactus guitarist Jim McCarty now online

Just thought I'd drop a few lines to let everyone here know that the entire Rock N Roll Universe interview with legendary Cactus/The Rockets/Mitch Ryder/Buddy Miles guitarist Jim McCarty is now up online and can be accessed at this location:

In the interview McCarty talks about not only the past and present of Cactus, but also his interactions and impressions of Jimi Hendrix, with whom he participated in numerous jams with during the late 60's, his blues influences and also his feelings concerning Joe's playing as well.

Enjoy!

Loved that song he did with the Rockets: Oh Well.

Re: Interview with legendary Cactus guitarist Jim McCarty now online

Oh Well was an awesome song and still is! Im not sure I mentioned this before but Jim Mccarty was issued in the latest Guitar Player Magazine in an article called "No Guitarist Left Behind" I believe its page 42.

Thanks Rob! Jimmy's a fantastic guitarist. Amazing how he was able to step right back in after over three decades and play with the intensity that he had back in the early 70's on the new album. Plus he's a great guy as well, which goes a long way. Not to mention his admiration for Joe, which shows he still has impeccable musical taste wink

Keith, do you live in the Detroit area or do you only know Jim by phone contact? The few times I have met him, he is a great guy. Allmost like an older brother figure. I am very curious if he will be up at the Hayloft show to see Joe. Maybe jam with him? I dont know what his schedule is for that night but I did mention to one of Jims friends that Joe was in town in December and he seemed very delighted!

Hey Rob, no I don't live in the Detroit area, I'm in the desert...well, now I'm in front of my computer wink Thus far our only contact has been via phone, due to time and budget! But, you're right, Jimmy's a great guy, and hopefully soon we'll meet up in person! He's always had nothing but high praise for Joe, so that'd be great if they could jam. Carmine and Tim Bogert were quick to see the light after bringing Joe up, so the interest is there for sure! That'd be great to see, for sure!
