Any English members here find it hard to find PRS SC250's locally?

Nope! Guitar Village have got one in at the moment. They're just over an hour from you I'd guess.

Ive seen that one, but thats still quite far, and one isnt enough, considering the colour ar least!

You might need to take a day trip to Denmark Street for a bigger selection. There are bound to be a few knocking around there.

Just been on the GV site and noticed they've put their JB LP up £540! Was £2,699, now £3,239! Yikes! It looks like all the Gibsons have gone up. A reflection of the sterling's poor performance against the dollar recently?

They went up a few weeks back, I think they was gonna go up anyhow Gibson has basically cornered the market only a few retailers are able to order them in etc effectively wiping out alot of competetive stores.... I think the reasoning was to improve quality and I think stores had to stock a stupid amount of gibsons leaving small stores not able to stock the requested amount.. Somet along them line sim sure someone else has the heads up..

Even epiphones have gone up by quite a bit imo

Re: Guitar of choice?

So are Gibson now charging the remaining authorised stores more for the guitars rather than the exchange rate having a greater effect? Are they continuing with the same UK distributor?

As far as im aware the exchange had a knock on, but with them already being taken from smaller stores they had already gone expensive.. Also smaller stores that manage to get hold of used Gibsons seem to be piling on the £££ vicious circle. Its the only thing that stopped me buying a Gibbo months back.

Re: Guitar of choice?

Sounds like I was lucky to pick my most recent guitar up when I did then!

Re: Guitar of choice?

Hey all, i'm kinda new here. i have posted a couple of times, but not recently.

i always torn between my strat and my les paul custom.

my strat is fender classic player 60's stratocaster. it's been tweaked a little. i'm not really a trem user, so i've blocked it off and got all five springs in and added new pots and caps. i find it a real go to guitar, the one i pick up the most in the house.

the custom is an epiphone model, black with gold hardware. it was one of those moments when your not really looking for something and you find something really brilliant. the look and action is spot on, it was pre-owned and tweaked. it has bare knuckles paf style pickups and has started to age nicley for a a 7-8 year old guitar.

the les paul is always the guitar i will use for live work, it's sounds really nice at gig levels with my amp and few choice pedals. i've only just started to get my gear sound really nice live for the les paul and the strat.

Fender 60's Strat>Fulltone OCD V4>>TC Electronics Polytune>Orange Dual Terror>Torres 2x10 Cab(with a vintage 30 and a greenback)
