Hi Phil,

Thanks so much for the research and the info. We're hoping to make a weekend of it!

If I'm alive when I'm 99 I'm still gonna be saying, "Remember 4th May 2009 when we saw Joe at the RAH... what a night that was!"

Re: Royal Albert Hall May 4th 2009

Thanks for all the info Phil.

I have a few other questions:

For all of us in the States what woud be the best way to go about getting tickets on Friday?  I'm still really nervous about the fact that this show isn't even up on the RAH web site.  Is it better to go thru them or See ticketing?  Is the time difference 6 hours between the east coast and London [no sleep Thursday night for lots of us!]?

Thanks in advance for any of the above info.

Sandy

thanks

sorry if there has been an answer i missed, still wondering about this
also if ordering online would they just automatical.y convert to dollars to charge your card or is there some other step needed to be done to pay using a US credit card?

Jane, it is converted automagically.  Actually, when traveling over there, we don't take cash, but just use the credit card and atm to get money.

There is a five hour difference between London and Eastern Standard Time.

I don't think there's to much to worry about at the moment. The RAH will not show it on their web site until Friday as there's no point. As for where to buy your ticket I would think the best place would be via the RAH web site or box office.

With most shows at the RAH you can click on and book the seats you want so you will know where you will be sitting.

If you go to their web site and pick a show or concert, click on buy tickets and then on select your own and then the area where you want to buy tickets and it will show you what tickets are for sale at that time. Then you select and buy the tickets you want,

No matter how far you try to push the envelope, it remains stationery

Thanks for all the info everyone, it`s a great help.

Friday will be manic for us lot! ;-)

Wouldn`t it be great if Joe did a weeks residency at the RAH, so we could all have a chance to see him play there...

Re: Royal Albert Hall May 4th 2009

Sounds all great!! Hopefully I can make it ....

First Joe at the Albert Hall and later in May I will be there as well for a couple of Eric Clapton shows at the Royal Albert Hall.

Maybe I can buy a sort of subscription for the same chair on each night ;-)

After Joe's gig they'll have to reduce the prices for Eric, the game has moved on.

Re: Royal Albert Hall May 4th 2009

Thanks to everyone for all the advice and help. I'm so nervous about booking the tickets. I hope everyone who wants to go manages to get a ticket and I hope that the dreaded ticket touts don't get their hands on too many of them!!
Does anyone know how many tickets one person can book? Sorry if it's already been mentioned!

Giddy as a kipper...again

Re: Royal Albert Hall May 4th 2009

Hi Tripsy,

No, I don't think that's been mentioned yet. The last time I enquired earlier in the week it hadn't been decided. If I find out I'll let you know. As a guideline it's six per household for EC, but I understand that it varies for each artist depending upon their popularity and the number of nights they are appearing. I doubt it would be unlimited as it's an open invitation to the touts/scalpers.

Thanks Phil,
Just discovered that as May 4th 2009 is a bank holiday we don't have to pay the congestion charge.

Re: Royal Albert Hall May 4th 2009

I think, or rather know the RAH show will sell out. But I don't think there will be any problem getting tickets on Friday or even after that.

What I'm trying to say is dont't panic if you can't get through to the RAH straight away on Friday, unless you are trying to get front row seats.

I suspect we're all trying to get front row seats!

Check Wooders post from yesterday, page 4 on this same thread.  He has some nice details.

Re: Royal Albert Hall May 4th 2009

Some thoughts about trying to book tickets online.

I believe when booking online that you can only specify which general area you want, e.g. arena, stalls, boxes, etc and that the site then 'allocates' seat numbers. So just wondering if booking on the phone (if it's possible to get through!!) would be a better option.

Anyone have any advice please?
